Sticker tyres. Nearly as good as sticky tyres. Those are probably better for the roads, though.

Well I am just returning to big bikes after a good while off, so I need to bed myself in too...Will be taking it very easy.
Especially as mate just gave a me a full description of his son's recent smash which ended up with 20 odd breaks, he had both arms, legs, feet, in plaster and some kind of back cast...

Did a pre Devon run prep on Nue Red.
Had an issue with it not wanting to start the other day, so as the starter connection was a bit crusty I swapped the starter over with a cleaner one. New rubber boot as the one on it had a split, lashings of Dielectric grease. Starts a bit better but not perfect, think it needs a valve clearance check. Battery's fine & charging OK all connectors tight...
Topped up the oil & filled the Scotoiler up.

Took it out for a ride again after more fiddling with the fuelling. I did about 40 miles, longest ride so far, and I think I'm getting close. Nearly 100 miles since its first MOT in October last year. I'm not going to be troubling the mileage limit on my insurance.

From 21/6/ 24 to 24/6/24 835 miles.
Obviously not all in one go...
DevonStorm a go go...
Didn't start to well after spending Thursday mainly prepping & fettling Nue Red inc Strapping the bag on ready to take off on Friday morning.
It refused to start on Friday morn...As I couldn't risk it for the weekend. I quickly got The Murvinator out to use instead. Didn't have time to check it over fully, as long as the tyres weren't soft & the chain not hanging off it was a quick swap over of the luggage, change tank bag from a mag one to the trusty baglux & away we went...
Turns out it was really low on oil so had to find some on Monday morning...Don't know what all the fuss was about It only took a ltr & a bit...
The Murvinator did well...

Last days sod all apart from pulling The Murvinator out so I could get the cable roll out, to cut the grass.

bit's n bobs done in the cave.
Drained 10ltrs of fuel out of Nue Red & put it in various bikes.
Sorted a full set of late style indies to put on The Murvinator to replace the LED sequential ones as apparently they are shite & cant be seen in bright sunlight. Seemed like a good idea when I bought them...
Went through the box of spare indicators throwing away any beyond use damaged ones & after a bit of swapping about of bulbs, nuts, screws & seals got 4 good ones ready to fit...

Someone from Belfast on Facebook wanted some crankcases for Suzuki GT750 to use on TR750 he's building. I replied saying I'd have look as I thought I had some hidden by my GT750 which has been stood in garage for a long time. I moved the bike out and turns out I had 3 sets hidden away. Put a photo on Facebook of bike outside for first time in ages. Now I've sold the crankcases and someone else made me an offer on my GT750 and all my spares (approx another one and a half bikes) so now they are sold. I dont think I was ever going to get it running again and the guy who's bought it will do a fantastic restoration so I'm happy about that but gutted its going because I had the bike for 44 years and many happy memories some not so. Bike had done 84,000 miles. I think I'm still in shock on what I've done but looking for a replacement eases the hurt.

Took Rothburg out for a spin, nowt exciting just off t Tesco's for some bits...
No indicators so off out in a bit to sort that out...

Easy fix sticky switch...
Although I did swap the relay over as they were flashing manically.
Having an epileptic fit !
Stuck a LED type relay on & now flash at a better rate...

Very interesting Neil
A very good friend of mine has a fully restored Suzuki GT750, so it will be good for another one to be saved

Another quick spin to check out the latest fuelling change. Larger pilot jets have fixed the 4k lean surging but it bogs down at 3k if I snap the throttle open. It wasn't idling nicely either. 1/2 a turn less on each fuel screw sorted the idle so I'll see what the bogging is like on the next ride. Either way it's easy enough to work around and I think the fuelling is close enough to run it in properly before it goes on a dyno to sort it out properly. I'll be getting the fuelling sorted with dB killers in too. It's obnoxiously loud.
