Most aluminium stuff nowadays is anodized or coated. Make sure you want what you are going to get.

I fully appreciate your concern Tony and Ian, but it states on the tub "not recommended for plated, anodized, painted or coated metal surfaces".

Tony, it doesn't appear abrasive as in something like grinding paste differences between fine and coarse which you can feel when using it. I would say it's more to do with the ingredients than it being a more coarse product IMHO,

Rob, I am very impressed with this Mothers Alloy polish, almost unbelievable how little effort is required in comparison to what we were using to achieve a brilliant shine That was on previously polished alloy that had gone dull, similar to your Moriwaki frame I would say.

The only thing I didn't like is the way the top of the plastic tub fits back on, unless of course I got a faulty tub? It looks like it's a screw on lid, but no matter how hard I tried I couldn't get it to screw back on. So I ended up pressing down on the top then it went on, then nipped it up on the threads with a short turn. Not sure if yours is like that?
That is only a small detail, I am over the moon with it

Mine arrived today with a free bag of sweets so grandson will be pleased. The top on 10oz tub is same as yours Sirch. Its not easy to get it back on.

Chris...that made me giggle about the top lol iv been fighting with mine since I got ..thought it was just mine!!!!.
In other news tried it on the Lc which has 43 year old alloy.workeda treat so went out tank spotting.

Rob, talking about your LC 43yr old alloy, why didn't I know about Mothers when I had my old Suzuki GS1000 which I had polished the wheel rim outer edges and all the engine casings, also all my old British motorcycles with plenty of polished alloy I would have had more riding time

It's not everyday you see a tank behind your bike, nice one Rob

What size engine has it got? Is that the fabled 19 litre tank that everyone seems to want?

Fitted a set of SP callipers on Rothburg with matching M/C... Absolute bargain on the bay of evil... put a checky bid on, no one else bid £20 & a bit of postage... Deals don't come up that often but when they do...Happy days.

Took the fairing off , to make things easier, swapped out the switchgear/ starter switch as they had no locating pegs, was ready to drill but found it had the holes in place already... Sorted both sides... another win...

Also swapped the petcock over, took the fuel pipe off the other day to remove the tank & got a 1/4 gallon of petrol direct to the groin...! Quickly put the pipe back on & grabbed an 8mm & turned the tap off, that's not right as should only flow under vac... I don't normally turn the tap off unless it's going to be off for a long period...

This is where it went a bit Pete Tong...Can't seem to get the fairing to line up bastid thing needs to go up & in to locate the pegs on the h/light into the clock sub frame... Had a measure up against another one & it looks ok not twisted... Somethings not right.

Decided it best to walk away, before I reached for the big hammer & made things worse ...

Mac, check that one of the rubber grommets hasn't fallen off.

Came back from a mate's having been out for a few beers with him last night. I took a long way round to his yesterday via Superbike Factory in Macclesfield and my folks. I've got more fuelling fiddling to do and some suspension tweaks to do, but it's always going to be a bit uncompromising. Looking at all those comfy bikes with easy luggage carrying capability got me wondering.

Stepping away yesterday was the right thing to do. went out this morn before it got too hot... Bit of a fiddle & repositioning of the wire bunches, two goes & its in. Spikes located in the grommets, mirror holes line up. Mirrors on loose, fairing bolts in place. Indies connected.

All nuts & fixings tightened up. Gave it a wee clean. Checked all lights & indies all working.

Changed the clutch leaver. Had ghastly blue adjustable ones on. The brake was different on the new M/C so found a nice Titax in stock & put that on. OK so they don't match but do I look like I give a fu**

Will go out for a spin on the morrow as its the Grain carnival & I can do without the disruption of the convoy of floats that come down my road...

No emoji for grumpy so have to make do with mad..

Got a 5oz pot in the post today, first thig I did was unscrew the lid.... It screwed back on fine...

Now what needs a polish ?

The Harris cans on The Murvinator ? It's previously polished swingarm ? The Spondon Yokes & Harris rearsets on Big Bird....

Ordered said plate tootled off around Strood in to Rochester & back out through Chatham...

Storms don't like slow traffic & hot days...Temp up into red not sure if the fan cut in, I'll have to do a static test...

Me new brake set up is a bit soft, need to re bleed & adjust levers as they are a bit out of me comfort zone... Just need a tweak...

Got the trumpet up to mot today .. it passed no bother but iv not ridden in rain so heavy in a very long time. pissing weather is crap. but another year sorted, then an hour cleaning the crap of it.
