tell me about it, at the mo i'm going thru speed cameras at 30mph which in reality is nearer 25mph.....i get strange looks fron other roads users

You only have to be under 30 at the start of the road markings. The cameras work on taking two pictures, so if it doesn't take the first one it can't hurt if you trigger the second one. But it won't flash anyway.

So practise your drag starts by going through the first bar of the markings at 28 then accelerating.

Surely the time to calibrate your eye is to use the speed camera... If someone slows down for a camera in front of you, pace them, and you know you're doing exactly 30mph according to the car's speedo.

Then get the marker pen out

Well if you pick a fairly modern car the speedo should be still as specced. If the modern car happens to be a Merc, you know there isn't a snowball's chance in hell that he'll be going any slower than he really needs to!

And yes, big box turned up this morning. New discs and pads to go on tonight. Callipers are already off and dangling from bits of string tied to the mirrors!

Luckily the car passed the MoT on Saturday, so I was only without transport for Friday.

Wheel off and transplant tonight... Maybe a ride later, weather permitting.

Put a bit of threadlock on the disc bolts. They will be super duper brakes now, new discs and pads.

speedo's not that far out up to 70... only 5% or so with std gearing.... on the sp ive just gone 1 tooth up on the rear but have a 15 to put on the front to keep my top end down a bit.
i tried it before i went to italy and the bike was fkin nuts to ride but was showing 105 at 80 ---- i didnt fancy clocking up 105 miles every 80 miles over a 3000 mile trip obviously so went back to the 16 on the front.

the one i bought is tiny, very easy to install... just clips inline with the speed sensor on the gearbox, then setting it up, you can either use an online database to find the correction factor or compare it with your satnave at a constant speed over 60mph. at 60 mine reads 63 on the gps.

setting it up is a single button, press til it flashes then repeat press.
it also has the max speed memory feature.

Actually, I was very careful... One side at a time, and after finishing one, I put a spanner between the pending pads (to stop the pistons pumping out) and then pumped the complete side back out before moving onto the other side. Just about managed it without spillage :-)

So discs done, pads done YAY! \o/

And you'll be glad to know I also adjusted the slack out of my throttle whilst I was at it - so you don't have to "tut" anymore

Bit wet for a test ride on new, unknown front brakes though... So time for a cuppa instead.

Well done mate, just got to bed the new pads in and you will be rockin n rollin again.

No point getting another disc lock really, if it broke that easily.

Yeah, I know... It's just the visual deterrent I like. I don't really want to go carrying my chain and lock round all the time, it'll be like having Marty as pillion!

Now will someone have a word and stop this damn rain?! I'm not going to go out with completely new and unknown front brakes in the wet!

Ah, the pressure got to you, did it?

Iv been a buisy boy today and iv fitted some Powerbronze Gold mesh to the front indicator holes in the upper fairing along with some in the front holes in the same fairing and iv swapped out the running light for gold mess so i can use the wiring from it to run a number plate light as the clear unit iv bought dosn't allow the license plate to illuminate (didnt think of that when i fitted it to the bike) but now instead of it being a problem i look at this sort of thing "as another job for me to think about and fix " god i love owning this bike ill post some pick's tomorrow and i bought a piece of kit that i can not rant on about enough but more on that in the 'morrow
