i woke up at 8 this morning, iwent to the garden to take off the bike cover, its been just over 2 weeks since my little spill, and i didn't have time to do anything to the bike before i left for spain, i barely had time to bandage my legs...
i didn't want blood seeping thru my jeans at the airport 8O
the bike was looking a state, i replaced the damaged mirror(a massive thanks to murv for giving me a spare one  )
i also replaced the damaged indicator with a spare one i had knocking around, shame its for the otherside, its upside down at the mo  it will do for now, until i can sort out something else.
i gave the bike a good clean, i also dabbed some paint on the damaged carbon fibre engine cover, it did its job in saving the engine casing.
i've still got to try and straighten the rear brake pedal, take the fairing to the painter, buy some new fork protectors, again the r&g jobbies did their job well, theres scratches to the lowers and the rear fairing
hopefully later in the week i will be attacking the bike with lots of bits and pieces.
heres a little list
fit new chain, 19 ltr tank, undertray with built in leds, r&g tailtidy and new number plate, brand new kill switch.
re route the electrics
straighten the brake pedal.
i'm sure theres other stuff to do but i can't think of it at the mo.....
heres a few pics of the minor damage

Oh jeez Marty, I completely missed you'd come off.
Really sorry to hear that. Bit of cosmetic by the looks of things and at least you are ok, which is the important bit.
Wish I had some right hand side spares, but as it is I'm looking for an indicator myself.
Stay safe mate.

Do tell  Well done mate  Hows it running, has that half turn made a difference?

Marty those fork protectors really did do their job. It just goes to show they do work. Engine casing protector as well. If you had some frame protectors that fairing would have go off lightly as well. And where the exhaust is damaged is exactly where those ugly carbon fibre exhaust can protectors go.

Those pics are a good advert for crash bungs/protectors It shows they really do work and are not just for show.

Today I done a tankfull of petrol riding the twisties in guildford south downs area. Past Yeti's house but didn't see the Volksi camper outside so I think he may have gone away for the weekend. My bike is running bloody beautifully. With the slight raise in temperature with the sun shining I can feel a slight difference with my carb set up. Gave it some serious low gear high rev runs on the country lanes. Cans and airbox growling at me

Went for breakfast (greasy spoon cafe) and went for another ride out on the twisties. I very almost got a tug. Going round a bend on the little fast side, well faster than the 40 speed limit anyway. My exhaust was loud as I was in 2nd gear about 6-7 thou rpm. As I go round the corner, approaching on the other side. Marked Volvo estate :eek2 I immediately slowed it down a bit and upped a gear, which would have been blatantly obvious as he would have heard the cans. He looked at me and gave me the eyeball, so I just looked at him straight back in the face as I passed.

I slowed down going through the next village by the book at 30 expecting him to turn around and follow me. As I got further down the road, quite a bit actually. Turned right on the main road back towards Guildford and through the next village, there he is again. He must have circled round, wombles. He knew I was not speeding as my timing was good. If I was going faster I would have crossed paths with him further on up the road.

It was one of those here we go moments. :eek2

Anyway it was nice to get out in the sunshine and burnt off half a tank of fuel.

Nobs! I had one follow me for a bit, at first he was quite close (as if he was checking my plate number) then hung back. So right at the last minute I went into a pub car park. I thought if he's going to pull me over hell follow. But no, he went by. Thing is, cos Iv dropped my front cog to a 14t, my speedo is out a bit so I didn't really want him following

Also I have loud naughty cans

I almost bumped into Mr Plod on my just removed baffles test run on Saturday. T junction just down the road from my house, was gonna turn right, but what's sitting in the traffic to the right, damn battenberg Volvo.

So as I really didn't know what they were going to sound like above 3k, I opted to go left and toddle along a bit until I was out of his memory...

Then open her up.

Glad I didn't go his way now, they're f*ckin' loud.

Where's Carl and his DB meter? I have a challenger!

Yeh we can sort that out one weekend mate. The excel car park near BSM's is a good place for that.

I would like to hear them but I doubt they will get past IIRC 119.7 db mark :biggrin

Here's mine http://www.vtr1000.org/phpBB3/viewtopic ... ilit=arata

:biggrin 119.7 db  They do sound nice, They have a real low down rumble at low speeds or higher gears low revs. And off course the overrun on engine braking. But when I open things up high revs they scream.

I was lucky, I took a gamble on ebay as I was not quite sure who Arata was at the time. But then I done my research and looked them up and was shocked 8O

Here's Lloydie's http://www.vtr1000.org/phpBB3/viewtopic ... 30&t=24101
