my mate Mike is also Scottish. I guess you'll both be reminiscing about what it was like when you were lads growing up north of the border etc... lol

Tis too bad, you'll all be passing by just down the road from me on your northernmost travels, but the back of my bike will still be in bits  Have fun!

Come on geodude, you do really do need to get out more
I wouldn't say the A483 is a cracking road, it's like being on the motorway, fine if you want to get somewhere fast in an almost straight line, but no fun what so ever, usually full of trucks and caravans.
If you're short of time then by all means use it, if you've got more time then use the A49 it's much more fun

We're meeting up at 10am Friday, anyone else want to tag along?

Bazza will be coming out of Essex, and meeting me at Clacket Lane; for anyone from Essex you might want to meet up with him t'other side of t'bridge.

Anyone from West London/Surrey we can arrange meetings on the way round the M25.

Route we'll probably be running is:
M25, M3, A332 to Reading, then through Swindon over to the Severn Bridge. (Then following sheep, asking for directions in every pub, we'll be there by Tuesday  )

Actually about 3.5-4 hours to Rhayader, plus any stops.
Awesome. There is only two coming up from Hampshire now so I may move things around so we can hook up along the way. Are you going across the old bridge into Chepstow? The roads after that bridge are awesome :)
If your all meeting up at Aust services I could join u there again  see if you remember the route from last year

Let me be more specific then, the section from Welshpool to Llandinod Wells is a cracking stretch of road
