I know that feeling, you should have seen the state of me the other week with the clay bars polishing up my header pipes.

Today my new ebay bargain undertray turned up. It's actually not so bad and seems like a good fit. A bit of a Pyramid replica but made of fibreglass so good and sturdy. The gel coat sprayed on was not the best so needed a bit of wet n dry before painting, otherwise all good.

Before

And after a quick coat of Satin Black

Still got to give it a quick de-nib, another light coat and then lacquer.

Also gave my VFR clip ons a quick rub down before spraying.

And my HRC Throttle tube turned up ready to go on the above bars. :D

Now all I need to do is find a decent numberplate bracket and get some new indicators for it. May even treat myself to nice new modernised number plate. I would like one with vtr1000.org on it and a little eu badge.

its taken me all day just to polish the right hand side of the rear wheel, are these wheels really that rough caste?
my poor dremel didnt know what had hit it and my fingers are sore from trying to sand out the pits in the alloy, its like some one stripped it with a paint scraper and a wire brush and nitromores.
got the front to do yet and the left hand side of the rear, looked like a panda when I came in lol

I have never polished wheels before but I know there is a lot of work involved. The dremmel is probably a bit lightweight for it. I heard of people wet n drying them for something like 8 hours per a wheel. 8O Start with the course stuff and work your way through the grades. Doing it by hand may be better, but you can expect to have sore hands at the end of it. Some good hand cream is in order at the end of the day, get some moisture back into your hands from where they have dried and cracked.

Looks like a hydration system for a greenhouse under your tank there matey, are you going to start growing petunias under there? I knew there had to be a better use for that old black oil burner of yours!!
Nice cascading lobelia down the sides and maybe some busy lizzies over the seat. Before you know it the old bus will look half decent. But only half!

Lloydie, have you got a catch tank on the breather or just a filter?

It'll spew oil otherwise, I expect.....

Carl, used the dremel to get the worse of the pitting out where the previous owner had made a hash of it and then went through from P80 right through to the really fine stuff all by hand, think I've sanded my finger prints off lol they be a bit sore now lol

no catch tank yet :-)
The oil breather filter I turned upside down for that pic because it's pink !!!
When it's turned right way up any oil that makes it that far goes back to the front cam cover as its the lowest part or the breather system .
I have put 300 miles on it without any oil from the breather being lost yet but it will .
When I find a nice clutch/oil top up breather cap I will route the cam cover breather to it to also act as a oil drain from the breather system .
