Today I got around to fitting the VFR Bars and HRC throttle tube. Not sure if I am that keen on the bars, may go back to the originals. HRC throttle is superb though.

Did not need to chop the fairing as my forks are dropped 10mm but it is a very tight fit with very little clearance.

The old throttle tube.

What's it rotate to now, to give full throttle?

I'd be interested in knowing how you get on with the bars, they're on my hit list too.

HRC Throttle tube is 1/6 so basically a lot less than half twist than before. It sounds drastic, but feels good. Should put a lot less strain on the wrist with not having to twist as much. I'm still un-decided on the bars. Early days yet and I will have to get used to them I suppose.

Did 200 miles on twisty, sunny, dry and fairly empty Scottish roads with a nice new rear tyre.....I think I may be in heaven :D

I forgot how good some of these roads of my youth were, it's only when you have to put up with the overpopulated and 50limited roads down south do you start to Appreciate them.

Having suffered a monsoon to get up here, the wet investment has paid back with some sunny days...I had a gentleish nimble on Tuesday with my youngest on the back and did the fantastic Dalveen Pass and over the windy b roads to the Leadhills.
But today I was on my tod, so the pace was higher :biggrin and I went from Dalry to Ayr, then down to Girvan then back to Newton Stewart, then back to New Gallaway, the up to the farm to see my brother.....

Next operation storm has to be in the borders...

Finally got the rear CCT out !

As the bike is new and I've not yet got a manual, I'm working a bit blind so taking my time. CCT removal is easy and the bike is nice to work on as things are easy to reach. If I get a couple of hours tomorrow night I can probably finish the rear.
Carbs are big, aren't they :D

Yep biggest Honda made 48mm, hence the reason why they can be tricky to tune and are very sensitive to airbox changes.

Mr John the best manual you can have for reference is here http://vtr1000.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php ... 25#p145453 Haynes is only good for looking at pics and having a coloured wiring diagram. Saying that though I think there's a coloured wiring diagram here as well somewhere.

My bike has had a hard like and been abused. It had 8thou genuine miles according to Mot history check when I bought it. But looks in a right old state. It's my ambition to having it look nice and new looking again. Something to be proud of washing.

The little Red thing extinguished your bike.

needs a little work to the sub frame to get it to fit how i want it .
im going to remove the pillion peg bolt holes and reposition them as the sp1 holes are narrower .
and as its an sp1 hanger i will pick up some sp1 pillion peg hangers for when or if i need to take someone on the back .
just waiting for the titanium parts to come now (this is becoming an addition )
