Ok..... So long as the image works these are the Gilles variobars. They are a quality piece if kit and are adjustable in all directions. The picture shows up massive colour difference between bars, grips and levers. To be fair the difference between bars and grips is not so bad ( this phone camera seems to make colours more vivid than they actually are) but the gold of the titax levers is more orange. I'll have to trade them up for ASV, or change them to black when funds allow.




This is as she currently stands waiting for failings, headlights, mirrors, screen etc....




Obviously still a bit of work to do but at least she is now mechanically sound, just need to find the time to finish the job.

There's some decent bits of kit on yours mate! Makes mine look standard ( that's because mine is standard apart from my cans )

Hi lloydie the brakes are on the list as are a set of Gilles rearsets..... Just need to refresh the bank account!! What will cbr stick coils do for her?

loving the swingarm mate, stick coils are a great mod, you get a stronger spark which makes the bike run smoother, its also more eager to start and its lighter and simpler than the original set up.....

Well for the first time since having the engine done at Rogers nearly a year ago. I felt well enough to take the cover off , we checked the oil and water . Turned on the ignition and hit the starter for the first time since getting her back.

Now bear in mind. It cost me £1400 in total.Engine out and fixed , K&N filter plus rejetted and put on dyno tuner with print out to show . So heres me thinking hit starter and now hes gonna purr like a tiger on heat..... How wrong was I, She struck up, loud knocking nosie from the right cylinder head area, The vibration now is worse than before it even went to Roger . Before you could only feel the vibration through the pegs at around 4000 revs. Now you can feel it through the whole bike, even through the fuel tank and into the groin ( putting it nicley) area. The left exhaust makes the usual growling noise , but the right one sounds like a pop gun and she hunts all the time now.
I,m totally pissed off now as I was thinking of trading it in before having it repaired and spent the extra on getting a vfr due to my condition, Wish I bloody had now. £1400 and I now have an even crappier bike before being repaired FFS.

had mine in bits after yesterdays fail.... found the main + terminal snapped off the cable to the starter relay.

mended.
and loaded a modded map & accel pump mod

off testing it now - going the tap in eastham if anyone fancies it

So was that was the cause of all of yesterdays grief then benny. It had to be something stupid, what a pain, but nice simple fix.

Just removed the K&N air filter & replaced to stock. Now reves to the redline without a flicker. For the K&N to work I will need a stage 1, that will have to be shelved until more finances come available.

Those are nice. Can you use the original cables?? More importantly where did you get them from??

The bars are Gilles Tooling in Germany. I think there are a few suppliers but I got them from Calsport. http://www.Calsport.co.UK. and I can tell you they have great customer service. The product is called a variobar and the risers come in different sizes upto 80mm ish. However they do not recommend the riser for the firestorm as lifting the bars means the brake and clutch reservoir will hit the fairings. So to get over this I'm going to change the brake reservoir for something else as well as raising and cutting the fairings. Having said all that you can attach the bars the other way around so that they operate closer to the tank and this means you can get away without cutting, but then you decrease the turning circle as the bar risers will hit the tank before the forks hit the stops.

The grips are prosport from Hein gericke so given their trading status they could be an absolute bargain!

The lines are also custom made. I have them a bit longer than I need so that the bars retain maximum adjustment. But they are hel performance lines and they make stuff to order so adding 100mm is no big deal.

Yep just pull the rubber bit down at the top of the coil so it sits just below the base of the cam cover and they wont budge anywhere.
