Been spraying lacquer on my panels today. Got a few coats of petrol resistant stuff to go over it all next.
It's coming along OK but I had a bit of a mishap with some runs on the front fairing and then while rubbing back some bit started bleeding through from underneath so had to get the Black out again. Hopefully with another couple of coats of lacquer it will improve. It needs another light rubdown before the next coats as I applied it a little to thick in some places.

halfords is the last thing In the world would use. No I using Simoniz. God if it was Halfords it would have cost me a couple hundred quid by now.
I got to leave it all a week now or until the good weather comes back and then it's a couple of coats of petrol resistant lacquer and it will be done. I'm looking forward to getting it all back on the bike. It's a slow process and is dragging on now.

There paint is good :-)
I go to a local paint shop and get them to make me some instead of the stuff of the shelf as I find its even better as the paint goes further and polishes up great

i like the matt or satin look, but when you add laquer doesn't it give it a more gloss finish?????
or am i being thick
i hunted around and found a matt laquer the other day but i'm not sure if its petrol resistant

Your thick

The colour I put on was not matte or satin it was regular gloss but yeh adding lacquer makes it even more of a gloss finish and the more coats the more of a glass like gloss finish. My frame is satin so I wanted the gloss bodywork to contrast it.
It's not easy finding a matte lacquer, I've only ever seen one or two people on ebay selling it and that's not petrol resistant. There can't be much of a market for it.

Not my my bike but just completed my first stopper mod on rich 1 bike. Such a simple and easy solution. Another VTR saved.

The worst bit was getting his seat off the bike.

The two prongs on the seat where severely stuck under the bars. Eventually got it off and then hammered the bars the other way a bit so sorted that out. I also adjusted his throttle cables for him as they had no play in them.
Scott PM me you address and I will send the CCT key back to you.

Sorned mine today; pending some income for insurance and tax.
I'll maybe get round to doing some of the work I have planned on it instead of thinking "No, I'll just have a little ride round first", then being out all day.
As it's pissing down I'm not missing it overmuch just yet.....

Fitted permant carb balancing hoses, balanced carbs, first test run after DJ kit fitted, all seems well. No apparent flat spots, pulls clean through the revs, and doesn't seem to be popping or farting on the overrun, so all appears to be good.

No actually I didnt really find them an issue, although I can see why they could be.
