Hope you're feeling better mate.... at least you weren't written off!
I had a corker a couple of years back....
While out on my 'Blade with my mate I ran in the back of him (a car stopped abruptly and legally, completely my fault for being a dozy pillock!). My bike went over on the right, wrecking the top and bottom fairings, headlight, indicator, can, sidepanel....the lot. The bike couldn't be ridden, so the AA sent a third party recovery company round. On the way home the driver stopped coming off a roundabout to inform me my bike had 'slipped' on the trailer - it was actually just hanging on, having gone over on the LEFT side. He dragged it up straight and I looked at it - deep scars down the frame, tank and LH panels where the sticky up numberplate had gouged in. He reckoned it was like that before - I pointed out his bent alloy numberplate and the fact that my accident was on the RHS. His boss offered to settle it out of petty cash (about £300) - I demanded his insurance details. The assessor came round and took one look at it, asked me to tell him the full events and immediately backed me up. The total damage cost was over £2000 - he offered me £1800 cash settlement and the bike stayed HPI clear. The cheque arrived within a week - unbelievable!
The mistake I made was spending it to make the bike mint again - should have 'fightered it and kept the difference......

Lesson's have been learned.
If your claim is the third party fault, refuse all offer's from the ins company, if you've been offered a courtesy bike, as soon as you settle you lose the courtesy bike.
Get all special mod's removed if possible. I had some guy's from work remove the shock but forgot the rack,which i really need
I had no option's with the fork's.
I went back to work on Monday
god it's hard.
First shift 0400 start, second shift 0600 start,third shift 0400 i need to do something else i'm knackered:lol:
Rib's are still sore, but i'm coping well like a big soldier
