Right, it's a bit of a trek to Yorkshire but I'll head up Fri eve and be there for the Saturday.
Quite possibly stay over Sat night, head back Sunday.
Due to distance I won't be going on a rideout, though!

If it's pissing down all weekend I will cry off, though- it's a bloody long ride wet and cold.
Please confirm whether covered working areas are available- don't want to get too much rain in open engines....
Also how many paddock stands are available, and if we're dropping forks out, what front end support we will have.
I'll be much obliged for a floor or sofa to sleep on Fri and Sat nights, and of course the address!
If that's a prob I can bring a small tent, though.

Can everyone please remember the rules of the day, which is you all do your own work, I (and anyone else that can make it that knows their way around Storms) will be there to assist if things get sticky, and make sure no-one does anything wrong. But make sure that you each bring your own basic toolkit, screwdrivers, an Allen key set, a small socket set, big hammer, :eek2 plus any parts you might want.
Shims for valve clearances are the tricky parts to have ready, as you won't know what sizes you need until it's stripped.
I have twenty or so of the standard sizes, enough to do the job most times, but Benny Hedges has his two sets back; I posted them off to him after AMcQ's w/s day earlier this year.

What we need to do now is to list exactly what jobs need doing, as I'll then bring any special tools we need, so please list your jobs as below:

Tony.Mon:
Wheel bearing check, fitting quick release fuel line couplers, check headlight bulb for scratches/dents, new fluffy dice and matching L plate.

Then copy that section as a quote for the next person; we'll end up with a complete list then.

Likewise I may well take the Friday off to travel up. Having somewhere warm & dry to crash would be much appreciated :D :D Will there be a torque wrench available up there as mine is fairly large & would be handy not having to carry it up?? One tool I do NOT poccess is a micrometer for shim size measuring.

I will be bringing a digital vernier for shim sizing.
And a drift for head bearings, etc, etc.

Looked at weather, and might be bringing the car instead, so that I can bring a full toolkit and paddock stands/jacks etc.

I can offer 1 bedroom with a double bed and a futon so can sleep 2 if needs be.

I will also provide a 3x3 gazebo.

I can also bring a dremmel type tool and cutting disks I used for getting the bottom head bearing out.

Tony if you come in car is bike coming on trailer?

We still do need to decide where this is happening, my garage, budd's garage or somewhere else?

Also if it is going to be a 2 nighter, shall I organise some entertainment? Not strippers if that's what you're thinking, but maybe something relatively cheap in a good central location like leeds...a few drinks, pub food and what not for one night, then maybe someone with a good sized garden could host a BBQ if we all chip in for dome beer and burgers?

Good idea about the barbie Miztaziggy, unfortunately, as you will have seen on Saturday,my garden is undergoing some work so its not possible

I will contact Budd about using his garage etc as he tells us he has loads of tools and at least 3 paddock stands

So its really up to you and Budd to decide who is best placed to host the workshop

It may be a good idea for us 3 to get together this week to recce both locations and make a decision

Really looking forward to this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!PLEASE DON'T RAIN!!!

I'm sure it will be fine, as bikes will be left along side other bikes that are stored that way every day.

OK just spoken to Phil (flatline) and I can comfirm i'm up for this, w/e 17-18 OK for me, re location I have a std sized garage with work bench large vice plus a drive infront to poss erect a gazebo I've plenty of normal tools,I also have a decent compressor and air tools, lots of torx / allen bits, torque wrech, micometer, dial gauge, 3 paddock stands (1x uderswing arm, 1x hooks / bobbins,1x headstock) welding gear and a great slection of hammers big, small, copper, hide, rubber, dead blow etc ( I like hammers!!!) from a tool standpoint I have most things covered, plus a real ale pub just down the road (they brew their own beer!!!), but to get the most suitable location Phil suggested that he, myself and chris meet up this week sometime to weight everything up and decide, if we choose Chris's I can always throw some of my gear in the van and bring it over (paddock stands and the like)

Just four bikes?

Surely we can do better than that, usually get ten or a dozen down in Kent, makes it worthwhile that way.
It's gonna cost ne £100 in fuel!

Come on, t'North.....

Looks like we have 5 for definite, so if we decide on 8 minimum we need 3 more to confirm, how likely is this ? I’d say given the relatively low level of interest it’s unlikely but it’s got to be worth a try especially now the nights are drawing in and potential weather will only deteriorate as the weeks pass, so I guess it’s now or next year, come on guys surely there are jobs you’ve been putting off or have simply neglected to do, now’s the time to get it sorted.
