you gotta get it to itely and back haven't you, and what sort of top speed do you think you can get?
I recon the AA recovery will be ok for 70+ onthe motorway, I am going to start a book on which country it blows up in.....I am putting. My £5 on uk....if you are brave you can go for northern Europe, and if you are just plain mad you can put your money on the southern countries
All money can go to Benny's charity
Perhaps to make it a bit more of a competition we could bet over which county in the uk

i'd go for kent, just short of the ferry, if thats the route he's taking

yeh theres a few of us who are well competitive with them, but rather than go for a full race tune its got to be like a sports endurance tune... the high end motors have an 8hr lifespan lol
thats not a problem on a race scoot, but as im expecting 1000mile+ out of this before a rebuild, i cnt push it too hard, plus it's aircooled.
this one already does over 65 (on gps - 'track my ride') but was topping out at 8500rpm. with the new porting mods and different exhaust i'll be taking it just shy of 11k which comes in at near 80mph!
the crank is a full circle resin jobby capable of 15000rpm but i dont want to push it that far for reliability...
couldnt road test it today cos of all the ice, but just did a mega burnout in the garage and it lifts the front end well - hopefully the ice will be gone tomorrow and i can see what it can do!
looks like the italian trip may be replaced with a uk 1000 miler as it worked out each rider would be into it for £600+ and not many could afford it.
so looks like we will be doing a similar event to last year but a bit further - details tba.
the few of us that were prepared to do the italian job are instead going to san marino wsb in may on the proper bikes - should be epic!

i went to san marino years ago, a beautiful part of the world. make sure you let us know the route buddy. 80+ on a ped is hard to comprehend, i managed 60 out of a honda c90 20 years ago and i swear sparks were coming out of the exhaust
sounds like a right laugh tho, when is it july/august?

8-10 june m8 for the racing iirc, we got 10 days there so should be a cracker

the lad's going who i got my sp off as well!
also 2 rc8s. 2 blades, a sd1090 & xjr1300 so far.
£104 for the ferry, staying in le giets along the route but got one night in a hotel in san marino & free tickets for the racing ;)
getting booked tomorrow - cant wait!
the uk ped run will be toward the end of july so far.... got to get everyone to confirm again now with hols etc

tbh i said balls to it, if it ends up only 4-5 of us doing the euro run we'll probs have a better laff anyway, never mind, it'll still be a hoot!
as long as we have a laff and raise a few bob for charity eh

fkin ouuuuuch!
just tried kickstarting the bitch in the garage...
compression is so high lol, it needs a decompressor!
it;s like trying to start a big 4 stroke thumper
bloody kickstart lever went right through the sole of my shoe & made a right mess of my foot!!

bastid thing!
leccy start struggles to turn it over as well - need a bigger battery on it.
cba now but i'll fit my spare firestorm battery next time im in the garage.

took off the variator case to take a look at the kickstart gear, which seemed to be sticking.
(didnt think the damage the other night was caused by high compression - it seemed more like a mechanical problem)
as i expected, the kickstart cam gear is stripped :/

same as on my spare one...
so by chance i took a look at the gear from a spare chinese 4t engine in the garage.... it's an identical match and undamaged

amazes me how so many parts are interchangeable!
while the casing is off i'm going to cut some more cooling holes then strip it bare and repaint it

what a dog that was to fit lol.
the kickstart spring kept binding up on itself so the kickstart lever wouldnt return - sorted it after about 2hrs!
need to retap the casing holes though as some of them are stripped out & can only get 4 bols in the vari cover.
i decided to polish up the casing instead of painting it. as ive got a spare one i'll take my time with it and do a nice job
finally got to road test it....
never really been one for running in 2 strokes, instead i like to load the rings, hard throttle then back off, then again, then again for just a few miles to get the rings to bed then nail it lol.
anyone want to take a guess how far i got before it seized lol
about a mile lol.

no biggy. was only a nip and it got me home no probs.
i'll whip the head off tomorrow and make sure it's ok!
oh - & it's fast lol! not sure about top end as i didnt want to leather it but it takes of like sh1t off a shovel & gets to 50mph as quick as it hit 30 with the 47mm kit

LOL following progress and adventures prepping your 'race-rep' two-stroke - me thinks for long distance work I'd simply get a C90 (Top speed: 50mph) or Honda Innova (60mph) and just keep topping the oil and petrol up....
