hi all
got the reg went onto autocheck and its a austin allegro 1500 sdl and it says its red ?

Yes I can now spot the 1 allegro head lamp in my cut off photo, so I stand corrected... But as it was a red car I didn't pay much attention to it when looking for an orange allegro! Well that's my excuse

The manhole cover was made by Spears and Company, in Rotherhithe, in 1957, if that helps?
It weighed almost forty three kilo's, and was phased out in the second half of 1974 after a court case JOHNSON v MANCHESTER METROPOLITAN COUNCIL, showed that the coefficient of friction was less than the new EC requirement.
The replacement was lighter, gripper, but sadly made in India, which proved an unsuitable material, being rubber.
There are currently nine on Ebay at present, all with no bids.

i had one of these.... sold it 6mth ago & miss it a bit..
was a lovely bike & never let me down apart from stator going.

it had 2 square headlamps....
