If you think the brakes aren't that good then you might want to try some fresh fluid and bleeding them. Did wonders for mine (once I got all the air out - grrrr!). Otherwise a set of after market braided hoses will first up the feel.
@Tattoo, can I ride behind you one day, I'm pretty sure I could run my bike purely off the vapour pouring out the back of yours!
