all sorted....new/secondhand R/R, just to compare with the old one I did some testing on it, 3 top wires (return from stator) set meter for continuity and got 538 on each ( give or take one unit ) nothing from these to the power or earth. Very different to the original. Daubed the back with copper-grease and refitted :thumbup:
Proceeded to clean up the mess left by applying to much copper-grease -idiot- still won't power up. Goes for a dump and a think, looks a wiring diagram and find that there is a main fuse at the starter solenoid. Pulls up keg's and goes and checks mine, low and behold the friker has blown :thumbup:
Tries it and hey presto, it's all good, what a lucky Bas***d :clap:
Thanks to all for the advice and assistance, next bit of sun and I shall be thrashing its little tits of again.
