That's going to be a good looking bike when you get it all back together

good work on the paint, is that Your own work, or did you get some one to do it for you?

You could use the rear wheel but it's not ideal. You best bet is to remove the old mangled cap. Use a centre punch and hammer, come a few mm's in from the outside of the cap and see if you can tap it round and out. Then get some of these nice replacement ones

The thing is made of shite, just butcher it out. If it mangles it up more then so be it, it's knackered anyway. If you tear the bulk of it out then what's left in the thread will just collapse. Just be a bit careful around the edge as there is a lip on the cap and you don't want to damage the thread on the casing..

I've still not put my new one's off gslr on yet as the current one on that came with this engine was buggered up, had to remove the cover its self to do the CCT's last time

might try my bolt extractor set i have somewhere on it, need to get them out as i need to tighten the CCT's a little

Argh I see what your saying. The bits are breaking off are getting sucked onto the magnetised Generator. How about removing the cover (there's no oil) drilling a hole through the centre of the cap and thread a nut and bolt on. Then you may be able to undo it via the nut and bolt.

No, it's just the generator and flywheel. The only way oil would get in there is is if the crankshaft oil seal was damaged. Trying to pull the casing off may take some force as the generator which is a giant magnet will want pull it back.

Try an angle grinder with a thin cutting disc to cut a slot across the damaged bolt head.

Then an impact driver with a large straight bit will normally shift it !
(suspect the vibration from the angle grinder also helps)
