Re: Poor Condition

Post by YETI »

My experience of roger is purely for parts and advise
and he`s always been ok with me ,
the only time one of my bikes has been with roger for work
was when it was owned by someone else and unfortunatly
the engine was destroyed on the dyno test ! but roger
completely re- built it at no cost to the owner to the original
spec at very great cost !! ie : stage 2 race .
i hope you can resolve this as i hope to use roger in the not
too distant future to build me another engine and dont wish
to feel any reservations about sending my engine up there !!!

so the very best of luck with this

regards
YETI..

I have spent money with Roger once, but I have taken his advice for free on may other occasions...So I have a good opinion of the man, but if I was in Paraiah's shoes I guess I would have a totally different view. thats a lot of dosh to spend and not get any backup when it dont work

Additionaly, I guess its my fault that Rogers name has come into this as Pariah had not named names at the start of this thread.........I just put 2 and 2 together from earlier discussions. so I would have to say that it looks like it was not his intent to turn this personal, and I think this is still the best way to look at it.

if we take out the names and look at the facts as stated, we would all suggest taking some action to mediate or following up through trading standards.......and that is what i think should happen, then we wait for the follow up report.
Lets not turn this into a Forum fight over who believes Pariah and who would rather believe Roger!

well that my opinion anyway........

Never mind , things like this crop up so I dont blame you for it :D . I,m just so let down that it's come to this. I wanted to speak with VTR owners as they would know how i,m feeling regarding the state of my bike is in now.

That Looks painful Mate

I know How you feel thou just been told I got to wait 18 weeks to see spinal specialist and I can hardly walk now, in constant pain!
Anyway, if it was me. I'd write him a letter stating what the bike went in for and what work was carried out, and also list any work that was carried out with out your consent etc...
Stating that your not happy.
See what you get back, at least its above board and if needs be you have met the criteria for getting trading standards involved.

I had to do this a few years back with my GSXR, went in for a service and MOT and I got to the end of the road after picking it up and it went bang, long story short their paper work said they had changed the oil, well they had but hadn't put any back in, I didn't check and it went bang about 200 yards away from the shop.
Had to go through trading standards for that one.

Everything now has to be done in writing, looking at your pick of your leg you wont be back on it yet so write a letter and do it registered post so it cant be refuted that it never got there and take it from that.
thats just how I would deal with it

No need for it to turn into a Forum fight or mud throwing exercise, just needs to be dealt with correctly

Agree, that's good advice. It's the little things like registered post that people sometimes forget. It makes it all official and gives you some protection.

Nasty bruising you have there. Arnica cream works wonders.

goodluck with your recovery buddy, i understand your pain, it was almost 2 years ago i had a very serious accident, and after a year of being housebound and not being able to work, i would have been very down/low if this had happened to me, i still get angry when i think back to when a fella stitched me up on ebay for a race fairing, and that only involved £100 let along £1600, fingers crossed you can get it sorted out, regardless of who it is, they should be picking the bike up and checking it over or repairing it, and i still don't understand 20 dyno runs on a newly rebuilt engine.....
once again, goodluck buddy

Hi mate, just to say good luck with this and hope you get yourself mended quickly. As it happens I deal with a lot of disputes ( albeit construction contract) and my only advice would be to remain as calm as possible in all dealings. Under no circumstances use any expletives when describing the wworkmanship or your expiereince. If it does go legal at any level you mustn't be seen to have been abusive or show any threatening behaviour. I have witnessed a contractor loose millions in a claim for this exact reason.
Finally communication in writing and recorded delivery is very good advice as is trading standards.

Good luck chap

Some people have good experiences with mechanics some bad, but you asked him to repair your engine and give it back to you in full working order, this obviously is not what has happened, and to be honest, I would be saying this to him " I paid you enough money to buy a replacement Firestorm to fix the engine and give it back in working order, you have failed to do this, I want you to take the bike back at your cost, and to return it to me in a reasonable amount of time at your cost " he will not agree to this, so take him to the small cliams court, I'm sure you will win and then they will refer it to a higher to and get your money returned.

I rekon he cant fix the engine and doesnt know whats going on with it hence the amount of dyno runs.

Go and see Citizens and then a solictor and trading standards.

As for the too old/messy/rusty excuse, I had that off of Johns of Romford, they said to me they wouldnt work on bikes over 10 years old, I said I wouldnt let you lot within a mile of my bike.

Despite what some people say they bloke sounds like a w****r.
