Lovely, game still on then?
I now have the funding on the way for more JE high comp pistons, well, after a couple of New Year discos I have booked, anyway, and maybe enough left over for the Lambda sensors and gauges, so that'll be the engine well on the way....
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Which begs the question.... what bike to source a good used rear caliper from? preferable one that has the same mounting pattern as the Nissin on the VTR

Have a look at some of the Triumph ones.

Thanks I have been.. Wife works at a Triumph dealer.. so it was one of the first that came to mind...

Darn things must be made of gold, or at least priced that way, new and used.

and the Tiger1050 rear caliper I was looking at... the bleeder is on the bottom

But I'll keep looking at other years and models, thanks

Hmmm, Duc 848 might work.... anyone know if the mounting bolt spacing is "standardized" ?

So thanks for the tip...

Seems 1998-2001 R1 is a blue capped, two piece under slung caliper.
2002-2003 R1 is a all black, single piece cast underslung caliper.

Then o4 and up they moved the caliper to the top again.

Lots here in the US on fleabay to choose from.. time to make some offers.....
