i aint no expert but that appears that the topcoat isn't comparable with the primer! I have had that in the past and it takes ages to get back off, so I've been there. Hope you get it sorted.

that's a pisser mate, I didn't get any silicone based products on it, wd40 or dash shine type product, it only needs for it to be in the air.

Could be caused by too many coats too quickly and too thickly +Subjected to heat too soon.

Nice craqulure effect there. I know how you feel after putting in all the prep work. There's not a lot you can do except wet n dry (silicon carbide) it back down, fill if necessary and then paint again.

Took a close look at the wheels and decided to re prime and go again.

Painful but necessary.

This is enough to drive a man to drink, might have to move Beer O'Clock forward

Keep up the good work. At least you know if it's done properly, not only will it look good it will last longer and give better protection.

Are you going over the primer with an IPA (alcohol wipe) or something to get rid of any contaminates. I would also give it a quick once over with a tac-rag to get rid of any dust right before applying the next coat. Can I suggest starting with very light dust coats of top coat over the primer to begin with. Are you using a 2k primer and topcoat?

I am using enamel primer and enamel paint.

This is laborious I know but wears well.

Have done it before, however I can't understand what happened.

This time I am taking more care.

I think part of the problem was that the weather was cold, and I got carried away putting on too much paint.

I have purchased new primer and paint and will take my time.(Both the same brand)

Starting from the beginning is a pain, but I want it right.

I did it this way on my brothers bike and it's still good after 2 years.

Don't know what I did but I want it right and starting at the beginning is my only option now.

Gunna rob a bank tomorrow , no finger prints from all the sanding!

I feel your pain man...been there, done that, had to start all over. But it will be worth it in the end. Think of the self satisfaction of beating it

Cyber, bit worried about comments like self satisfaction and beating!

Have under coated wheels and all seems well so far.

I am thinking that the original primer I used was not enamel comparable.

Will spray a light first coat of white tonight if temps are O.K
