Was out riding to Cairns last week and was passed by a new Fireblade doing well over the 120 I was doing, didn't even see him in the mirrors until he was tucked in behind me and ready to pass. He was in shorts, t-shirt, shoes and helmet. I wear full Dri-rider touring gear with Dianese armour underneath and I figure it'll just hold me together if I have a high speed off. That guy stood no chance at all.

Have to agree with you there. I wont even wear only a "t" round to the milk bar(deli)
Im usually going too fast or playing moving chicane's on the back wheel so feel I need all the PPE I can wear. Have two piece leathers for playing,
"mars" jacket for cruising and a "force kevlar" for the wet. Gloves are pretty important too, but dont even get on without a pair of shin high boots on. Seen too many people slide and loose their footwear and grind their toes and ankles away. They reckon it stings like f@$k

I think I've got an old leather jacket somewhere for when it's cold...

yeah I'm the same, if the temp is around 25 degrees out comes the old leather jacket for around town. I'm acclimatised to the heat and I refuse to be otherwise.

It's bad enough riding on the highway when the temperature drops to 15 at night!!!
Ah, the warm winters of north queensland.
