I had a minor prang in the car on 1st June and still ongoing. Thought the other driver was uninsured at first. Didn't seem to want to cooperate for some reason, wouldn’t admit it was his fault or give up details, took ages to collect insurance details through police. Solicitors appointed by insurance company are sh!t, have been slow as fook... court proceedings issued just waiting for response. Might not get anywhere as I don't have a witness but I am gonna make him suffer

At least you have witnesses and law on your side.

Don't be fooled by the picture. All the front plastics, headlamp, clocks, forks are bent and twisted, there's a ? mark over the head stock, both rads, engine is split somewhere, petrol tank, left exhaust, hanger.
That's just what I saw at the recovery place!

I found out today that I am covered on my house contents insurance for my lid and clothing

I talked to my insurance today.

Gutted, but...would you have felt comfortable riding it if it had been repaired?

At least this way you get a new bike and not a bent one.

I'm not gutted. I would not have been happy riding it after a repair job. I was doing about 35mph when it went down and that was only about 10 feet before it hit the car. It did crash quite hard!
Once I have had the insurance offer I may buy the salvage.
I do know of a 97 storm that needs an engine after a CCT failure. My engine needs a new casing, but has only done 11k. I am just going see how much things are going to cost and see if it's worth my while.
