It used to bea guy called Steve's house who looked the spits of Hucknall

He was one of the old skool last of the crazy type bikers, lots of biker mates round when i was in my early teens, mad parties, fireworks and bangers as guns, loads of bikes in the garage,

Then he met a woman and she got pregnant

Turns out this couple are not students and this guy has bought the house, he's not renting it and he was personal trainer / sports nutritionist to James Toseland and does the PT for other racers

Dad's been out to get tyres on the blade and had a chat with this guy when he got home

He looks bigger than me and might be able to beat me up apparently lol

a MOOSIVE thanks to carl today for helping me fit the front cam cover, what a bitch of a job, carbs off and even fairings off, for anyone whos considering painting there cam/rocker covers, its only worth doing if the bikes in bits, it didn't help that after the first fitment(carbs off only) that oil pissed out because the rubber gasket hadn't seated properly, so carbs off again togeyher with the fairings.....
on a plus side, if that hadn't of happened i would not have found that 2 bolts on the lower yoke were so loose they were about to fall out
i also managed to fit a new led headlight bulb....fook me its bright(i doubt its road legal but everyone can see me now)

I reckon you only have to mention carbs and Carl is there. Wonder if 'got to clear the garage out, best take the carbs off first' will work....

Don't forget I changed the diaphragm springs over while I had the carbs off too.
Those loose bolts in in your bottom yolk where not good, well spotted.

not been out on mine for what seems like weeks now and im starting to get withdrawal symptoms
i will have to take it out for a good run before next weekend .
then put it away for winter .
i still haven't decided what i want to do with it yet regarding mods as its only cosmetic left to do now .

i hadn't rode the bike for 4 weeks, it makes me laugh to think the traffic and the journey to carls house was crappy but i was on the bike and still enjoyed it....

Apart from the engine. Why don't you take the heads off and have a look what's going on to cause you oil consumption. In fact why not take you frame off for powdercoating then you will have nice easy access to the engine. Investigate and decide if it's worth reconditioning or getting a replacement, depending on whether there is a lot of wear to the pistons, rings and cylinder walls.

You may get away with it just needing a de-coke, new valve stem oil seals, guides. Take the valves out, clean them up a bit and re-lap them in. And while your at it give the ports a light clean up. Or it may be a cheaper option to get a couple of ebay cylinder heads and chuck them on. But if it was me I would clean up the heads you have as you don't know what the condition of 2nd hand parts are going to be in and how long their parts will last

internal engine work is beyond my skills at the mo .

i need to do a compression test first as that might highlight the problem
regarding oil consumption altho it ain't that bad and manageable if i keep an eye on it .
at some stage i want hi comp pistons and cams but that can wait ,
but as my engine has done 70k i would ideally like a younger replacement sub 10k to use for that .

i also want to powder coat the frame/swinger and other brackets and wheels but that depends if i can get the engine out without cutting it out .
a new green paint job to .
the list is long but if i start now i would miss out on next years summer rideouts and maybe the year after to as i wouldn't want to do it in stages and money is tight as i'm not a big earner and its more of a toy and a hobbie for me as i have a car for transport .
