Forks are off a 893 I think. Calipers mount to the forks without needing a bracket, they just bind so I'm going to try putting a spacer in. Have you had to do this?lloydiecbr wrote:What forks do you have ?
Do they have an adjuster below the calliper mounts ?
I get full lock with my cbr900 front end has yours been reduced at all ?
I get full steering lock, the bars cables and hoses just hit the dash limiting how far the bars can go. You have a renthal bar fitted though don't you?
Ill put some photos up when I get a chance

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
The 893 ran from 92-95 and the 92-93 didn't have compression dampening on the lower forks that the 94-95 had .
It's easy to find Which ones you have by checking for the compression dampening adjusters below the callipers .
If they have them then the callipers won't need spacing .
If they don't have them then you will need to space the callipers in 2.5mm each side .
I do have renthals so can't really help with that one sorry .

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
Picked up the decals today and dropped them with the painter .
The painter was just setting up for primer to do me stuff .
The painter did say "I'm really looking forward to painting these in that colour you picked as it looks fantastic " .
I then went home and gave the fork lowers a clean and rub down and then gave them a bust coat of the satin black

As you can see Xmas wrapping paper tube fits great over the fork tube .
I also gave the frame one more coat , I'm going to leave that to harden now for a few days

Your misses started wrapping Christmas presents already thenAs you can see Xmas wrapping paper tube fits great over the fork tube

I'm looking forward to seeing the spray job. Give it a few months and then put a ceramic coating on the paintwork before putting any wax or anything on it.

Good to hear you're making progress - though surprised at the lack of options in the style of vinyl
Is there any other local shop that could supply them in say, chrome vinyl?

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
I've been in touch with many company's and none could do them in the time frame :-( so I've had to just go with white decals .
One place could do them but not in print .
They could do them but it would be a white decal on top of a larger decal ! But it would be raised . The painter is going to lacquer the body work then key it then put the decals on then lacquer it all again . So I hope it will give a nice shadow . Well we'll see .
It will still look very nice with just the white logos

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
It's a coating that can be applied directly to paint and it works on a nano scale where it bonds into the lacquer. Gives the paintwork a much tougher surface and protects it.Ceramic coating what's that ?
There loads on different types on the market and at various prices but here a quick link to one I found while doing a quick search http://www.element119.com/auto.html It will give you a rough idea of what I'm talking about and there is some nice vids and explanations, but if you need pro advice on ceramic coating speak to Chric.

When I get my paintwork done I think I will be using the Carpro Ceramic Quartz http://www.cquartz.com/
