That you did, very true :P

Fair enough, sounds like a decent route to take. Better than mine today at least, out to Temple Herdewyke via Kineton, Gaydon and Bishops Tachbrook... With my idle set so low that the bike stalls in neutral, was trying to idle at 500rev :D s and none of us can find the thing to raise the tickover :D :confused

Fitted eastern beaver relay kit (on Benny's recommendation)- easy enough, just had to decide where to put the relays x 2. Ended up screwing them into frame near horn (relays had holes at end).

Need to think of a way of tidying up around battery- so many extras screwed into terminals with closely located associated inline fuses.

Painted (black smooth hamourite) my mirror extension mod-1" extra length filled in with plastic filler. Not as smooth as I'd liked but worst case could put heat shrink on.

Would smooth black hamourite be ok to paint forks where mine are pitted? Mmmm. I wonder?

Me too and mine are currently painted in the stuff :-) .
The spray gives the best finish .
Use a good etch primer first and build up the coats of paint .
It will take a week to dry ands longer to harden off but when it is it offers a good hard finish :-)

Plop on the mat this morning all the way from Scotchland c/o Jazzscott. :D

Some time later in the MacCave after a bit of polish, lots of elbow grease, some new stainless bolts, 1 coffee, 1 ciggy & surprisingly little swearing...& I didn't use a hammer once !

Cleaned about 4 weeks worth of crap off it  about bloody time too. Also tried finding my tickover switch thing to raise the idle (it's trying to idle at 300-500 revs) but once again failed miserably

Look in the right hand side of the engine, near the rearmost edge of the fairing, between the cylinders. through the frame. peer into that gap looking forwards at about 45 degrees and you'll see a black knob with vertical knobbly bits to grip. That's the tickover adjuster.

Using a torch is easier.
Then find someone with japanese-sized hands to get in there and adjust it, or do as I do and knock it round a bit at a time with a flat-blade screwdriver.
