Maybe it's designed for proper matt finishes like the 2005 Matt Black VTR. I can see how a regular wax could be a problem with them as it will add glossiness to the matte finish.

You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

Completed the installation of the new FH020AA R/R on my bike with direct connect plus fuse to the battery, thus bigger gauge positive and negative wires. Another great mod is done!

New spark plugs (a blue tac incident pissed me off!) and air filter went in yesterday and my carb sync adapter and tubing fitted + made my own carb setting tool

Image,

im hoping i can sync the carbs with the tank on

will see if it starts later ready for carb sync.
Just left to do:
  • Awaiting k-tec weighted springs.
  • fitting new seals + sliders for the forks
  • spraying the fork lowers satin black
  • carbon wrap the power bronze lower fairing

Bought a 100/80 blue headlight bulb from Halfords. Getting bored with following the white line at night on three candlepower. Main beam's fine, two relays fitted and heavy guage cable all the way back to the battery, so all supply side should be good.
Took out old bulb, then saw that it was already the same as the one I was going to put in.....Hmm.

So I rewired one of the relays correctly, and Lights!
(no camera action, though).

I'd been riding for , must be 2 years, with an incorrectly wired relay- on main the two down-stream-of-the-relay connectors were the wrong way round, so when dipped beam was on, it had no earth, and was trying to return through the main beam filament.
Doh!

Went for a ride, took bulb back, went for yet more super unleaded and a pint for me of Long Blonde at the Working Men's club, as I'd been working (on the bike). Drinks all round, bike and me, anyway.

Just waiting for the weather to close in....
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Finally completed heated grips

All relayed up, nice smart job with all components tucked in the seat fairing at the side of the starter relay and provision for any other accessories via the relay and feed directly from the battery.

Bought a black leather trouser belt from a charity shop in the week to make a new extra-strong seat strap (can't get out of the shed without much fannying around so seat strap or grab rail is needed).

Went for quick blast - ferkin' cold. Now waiting for pay-day for Tech 7 muffs and I'm up for any weather!
