did some more.....
still got to fit a mounting bracket to the front of the lowers... might just dummy it tbh cos it's solid with just 2 fixings each side.
needs a grille on the front, under the front header - the stuff ive got looks crap so i'll wait til ive got something decent.
also ordered some new slightly bigger honda wings to replace the ones on the tank as theyre out of line with the firestorm logo...

Had the spanners out not to fix bike as bleedin' kitchen tap sprung a leak at 4.30pm yesterday just as all shops shut down for the long weeked.

Fitted my belly pan that has been sitting in the garage since last summer. Its a Moriwaki type bellypan and tidy's up the bottom end really well.

Ill post pics tomorrow when the suns shining.

Good work Benny,bet you can't wait to give it a blast, then & at rides end sit whilst the engine pings & pinks as it cools & you ponder all the squished flies n bugs adorning your crisp fresh paint.

yeh i know mate - imagine that after a ride through scotland... it will look like a halal slaughterhouse!

finally got all the brackets on the lowers and what a git that was! then remembered i havent put heatproofing in the belly so it has to come off again lol.
got to take it off anyway when the rest of my trim turns up like...
cant wait for morning to test it out

i need a smaller fuel filter tho cos the seat wont go down proper..... fuel filter is next to the pump, on top of the battery.

Same belly pan as mine, it seemed ok last year as it was, i aint got any heat proofing on mine at all.

i just ripped some bonnet heatproofing out from the scrapyard... used it before and it works sound.
after idling on the drive for 20 mins it did feel warm under the belly so id rather fit it just in case.

btw tony... the gearchange is a lot better now m8, no clunk to 1st and goes 2nd to 1st to neutral a lot easier... was a bit tricky to find neutral before. another for you sir

fitted some of these stompy grippy pads as well for hangy off fun

I played with my spare red one at last; it's been sitting on the patio looking at me for a couple of months or so.

The so-called "mechanic" that was meant to be sorting it couldn't find why it wouldn't start, a couple of problems was all it was.....

1- the transfer gear set between the starter motor and the sprag clutch was slipping, it should be locked solid.
Haven't seen that before, but as I had a spare one, and it wasn't the starter motor or the sprag clutch......

2 It's red.

Still, it runs fine now, just a couple of tidying up bits and pieces to go, and an oil change and it'll be up for sale.

Tidy, and although it's an import, one owner, tidy plastics, unmolested and fitted, as you would expect, with manual CCT's!
Oh, and good rubber, Diablos with very little wear.

On an S plate, so early-ish.

I'll be looking for £1500, given the prices they're fetching just now, should be ready in a week.

And it'll have a lovely set of cans on......

Took her out for a run today to test the new aerodynamics. I like the new belly pan lots.

Gave her a wash and took a couple of pics.

Just need to paint the back wheel next.

just got back from the 1st ride in 2 weeks - god i needed that!
first ride on the storm since november & what can i say.....
got lots of splatted flies on it atm so it's having a bath in a min!

love it. deceptively quick... goes round corners almost upright 20mph quicker than my zx750r.

verdict on the new progressive rear spring?
er.... i think i need to try it on the soft setting lol, nearly had me out the seat a few times but it does dig in a lot better... no more hopping when changing down 3 for roundabouts

'i'll only be 5 minutes' turned into a 87 mile run lol - glad to have it back

the belly looks cool jazz - nice one. i'd leave it black tho if i was you - suits you sir

motrax knee grippaz tank pads - they were on offer from 2wheel centre... about 15 quid.
you can get the same stuff in a sheet but it was same price for the pre-cut ones. next day delivery too.
big improvement in bends and going over bumps lol.
also, i adjusted the rear damping to soft and very impressed with the new spring.
just been out on it again for a 40 mile blast, absolutely love it.
still got a bit of a hiccup around 3500 though.... i'll balance the carbs again then put it back on the dyno, maybe next weekend.
i took the baffles back out as well & i love the noise.... plus it definately takes off faster with them out, makes me think the mixture is still on the rich side.
