I rode down there today, Upper and lower Chapel on way home as we rode Brecon/Builth Wells and home down to llandovery but you have to do those roads, you'll kick yourself if weathers nice and you never got to see them as Darmember says..Amazing roads round these pasrts, better by far than most! We ARE DEFO for turning up on the SAT morning!
Silly boys...Women do have balls....We just wear them higher up!

I'll leave it up to bazza and jamie as to how far of a detour to take as they will have travelled 180ish miles to get to Aust

If a bunch of us are turning up on Thursday, we need a ride out on Friday

Any suggestions of a route that is not one we are doing over the weekend?

I will be happy to detour but will wait for the weather on the day and possibly how my butt feels. As long as the slow ride group will be slow cause I will be knackered, even after my recent exercise to Liverpool with Tony.

+1 :)

The "slow" group won't be really slow will it?

It's my first time using the marker system officially, but me and my friend operate similar tactics so hopefully I won't get too confused. I don't think the fast group is for me as my 'fast' might be a lot slower than your 'fast'.

I could always move into that group next year, if I feel the need, the need for....?

This group is for riders that are more comfortable at a leisurely pace. You will still be happy to maintain the national speed limit when the need arises (to avoid holding up other traffic) but also like to look at the scenery. The focus of this group is to enjoy the roads whilst taking in the surroundings. It's also ideal if you have not been on one of these before and want to get an idea of what its all about.
Note: The Friday is not an organised ride as far as I am concerned. I'm planning to get to the site as soon as possible to get settled in and ready to catch up with everyone. I'll be happy to take a slight detour but not a full on organised ride. Just saying :P

Jamie,
dont worry, the slow group riders arent slow [unless they are restricted by their bike having 33hp....Virt, we might have to remove the restrictors at the campsite on friday  ] and the "progressive" group riders arent super fast.

Both the lead and the tail [Geo & Flatty] on the slow group can both ride fast when the need is there, but they like to explore, look at the sceanery, stop & take photos etc.

The progressive group might only go 10% faster, but we stop less and want to spend more time in the saddle enjoying the roads..........we tend to eat in petrol stations rather than a nice tea shop
For the bits I will lead, I dont tend to go too fast on the straight bits, but will make progress past cars to make sure I get a clear run in the bends and I grew up on country B roads so I do like to wind it on in the corners ........ the other leader MJONSEY is the same, he grew up on these roads and knows whats what.

As both groups will be doing the same route for the first 100 miles, and meeting up at Bala for lunch, you can work out who you want to ride with for the afternoon after seeing the state of play in the morning

That's cool, if I get pulled you take the blame for it

Also, just while I remember. I apologise to anyone who gets behind me on the slow ride, I cannot overtake. I genuinely don't have the power to accelerate once I'm doing like 50

you're be able to overtake like the rest of us, whilst distracted by Jamie's mum will give us time to tinker with your bike and take those restrictors out.

good plan Bazza, but what if we also get distracted by Jamies Mum and forget to put his bike back together???????

mind you, that fixes the overtaking problem as he wont be able to join the ride :D

Don't tell me the plan, I need to act as inconspicuous as possible
