Got all my gear on, ipod in, engine running, gloves on, doh......no clutch !!

Had the sprocket cover off yesterday, didn't know I'd have to bleed the bloody clutch through after refitting !!

20 mins later managed to get out....colder tham I anticipated though.

Oh....Cheers Kev :D

Fitted more pointless bling and added some weight (sigh) what was I thinking? :whatever

(the pointless bling is the cover, btw, not the lovely Ti inspection caps).....

The cover is nearly 5mm thick, so although cutting (not drilling, no way through this stuff with a drill) will weaken it a little, it still adds a substantial amount of protection.

Any thicker and it would limit lean angle

Cut off my damaged rear mudguard after it was hit by my wife in a angry moment in the garage, Took off my rear footrests and put the new hangers on and then!!!!! RODE 170 DRY Miles on it, what a hoot, yes very cold and i didnt give a crap about the skiing trip coming up but made it fine.
Bike did about 119 miles before i had to fill it up (2001 model with bigger tank) so very pleased, went a treat with the cold air etc. It does go well and thats the longest trip i have done on it so far. Manual CCT,s and MOT in 2 weeks.

Generator Cover looks nice there tony

Bigtwinthing.. Can't beat getting a good dry run out early in the year to get your blood pumping. Managed 150 miles today, hooking up with lloydie, and i can't get the smile off my face :D Roads are a mix of everything, but any salt was dry and as long as you avoided the mud and dust there was grip to be had, but didn't try any knee down yet...will save that for when it all warms up a bit more

Looks good tony, i was going to drill mine too, but feared the cover mat not do its job to well if it was drilled out in the middle so didn't wanna risk it at the time

Today i cleaned the bike

It was rank, took me about two hours to get it clean, four buckets of soapy water, and 2 thirds of a bottle of muck off,

Flipped the tank back to inspect the Pipercross filter, OMG it looked like someone had thrown a handful of grit at it, cleaned it and just waiting for it to dry before i re oil it

They just keep gritting here non stop??? 4pm they drove past gritting again, it was about 10c at the time and its going to be above freezing for the week to come too (night time also)

Went to halfords got some bits too

Argh, well there is a cause of running problems. I expect it looked a bit like an aquarium sponge filter full of fish poo and old food.

What's with all the gritting up North 8O they have hardly gritted at all down here.

For reasons unknown its a black sponge they use, you think they would use white so you could see the muck better??

Re the gritting i really don't know mate but its pissing everyone right off,
they never put it down in time for the first snow and the heavy snow or first ice, yet they continue to pump it out everyday since

This top gear is looking a fun one!! :)
