can reccomend this loop from Crossgates.
The A483 is fast & flowing, whith some nice tight bits to keep you working.
the B4355 is just a little bit to narrow to ride aggresivly , but the views and the bends are great
and the A486 is the best of both

Challenge accepted! :0)AMCQ46 wrote:......the B4355 is just a little bit to narrow to ride aggresivly
Seriously, Thanks all for route suggestions. It seems between us we have some great options.
Nearer the time we will need a leader and temporary tail gunner. Temporary in that I'd like to do my usual footage gathering duties and then resort to to back. As much as I'd relish the challenge to lead the ride, I wouldn't want to hold you guys up on the straight and hilly bits eh w-dawg!!
Last year I led for a short while and then MJonesy took over as the local. We could possibly adopt the same approach again if MJonsey is up for it?
Whoever leads should either know the route or have a working navigation device. This approach has served us well over the past 2 years. If it ain't broke etc.

Re: Operation Storm II – Part three – May 18th - 20th 20
tbvh we should make a proper day of it assuming we get a dry day this time lol, carry on up the 483 & i'll take you round some ace roads a bit further up into north west wales.... the ones plod use for high speed pursuit training...
(no thats not a fast game of trivial pursuits lol)
thinking mainly of around betwsy coed, cerrygdrudion, llyn brenig res, denbigh moors etc... not too far from dolgellau & machynlleth on the way back down, then we can drop into aberystwyth for a brew and hit the a44 back to rhyader?
is a good 300+ mile ride but very good indeed - seems a shame for some of the southern jessies to come all that way & then miss out on some of the best roads in the uk...
good tyres required!

You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.
Re: Operation Storm II – Part three – May 18th - 20th 20
Can I be put down on the Attendees list. This route is sounding very good!
Hopefully my squared off BT023's will have worn out in time to be replaced before hand.

Re: Operation Storm II – Part three – May 18th - 20th 20
all us southern jessies make a point of coming 300 miles up to see you lot, but the favor never gets returned TBH I would come 500 miles to see you benny..benny hedges wrote:tbvh we should make a proper day of it assuming we get a dry day this time lol, carry on up the 483 & i'll take you round some ace roads a bit further up into north west wales.... the ones plod use for high speed pursuit training...
