ah ha thats just what mine seemed to do. for no reason every so often then it just went down hill on me. keep an eye on it is right

im now gona open a large carryout. get very drunk.

Out of interest what were the tell tale signs it was fooked a photo would have been good,

it started about a year ago . not often but just once in a while it would get slow to turn over and sometimes i got a clunk from the starter motor area when it wouldnt start, as if it had kicked back , then it would fire no problem but it just got worse then went down hill real fast at the end of August.. as if the battery was flat. thats what pickled my head, done everything a bike with a dodgy battery would do...

I was wondering what the tell tale signs were on the transfer/idle gears, the fooked part as you put it
