Just dug out this old pic... It looks like it's called a "power center 8"

I like running seperate feeds with fuses to everything, also the direct headlight feed was well worth doing!

thanks for the photo Jamie, looks nice and small. But I will have to work out a different location as I have got a tool kit, a puncture repair kit and a U lock taking up the space you are using.

As Storm Babet (where the feck do they get these names from) is turning the garden into a lake, and according to the news putting Grumpyfrogs home area of Forfar into a red weather warning……. I thought it is time to resurrect the winter project thread.


On my list is to try and copy the reprofiled and taller seat that Jonsey has on his new red storm. Rumour has it that Jamie did it as a dog job, so I will be picking his brain.

I'm getting lazy, I booked for a mobile bike valeting guy (Grant Webster, Wheelie Clean)to come and clean the zzr1400 in January (not cleaned it all year). It didn't add too much for 2 bikes to be waterless clean and paint protection to be done so he's doing my Benelli Tornado as well. I dont know how it works but he seems to travel good distances to do lots of bikes. Pictures from bikes he has done show good results so hope it is.

Winter jobs for me:

Ride the bike as much as possible before the weather gets too bad

Copy the Spondon rear subframe I've borrowed from GLSR so I can fit the Spondon seat unit

Rebuild the loom with an Ignitech ECU

Do something else other than work on the bike

Got a new garage built, filling it up nicely, ground anchors, fixed charger to keep battery good.
Best of all got a bike drier, bloody amazing. Well worth it.

I tried using an old vacuum cleaner some years ago. It had a reversed flow connection point meaning the hose had air blowing out of it instead of the vacuum sucking air in, it didn't work that well. I take it your Bike Drier is far superior to this

This time of year I use my leaf blower to dry the bike after a wash, its 2 stroke power blasts the water off Doesn't fully dry it but gets rid of pretty much most of the water and a quick whizz round with a chamois drys it. I can see the appeal in a heated drier though
