Wahey, my all time favorite plane
And not just coz I'm biased coz my great uncle was Bob Blackburn :o

Great shame I never met him (he died 17 years before I was born!) coz from talking to his wife, and my Granny and Dad he was an amazing bloke

Went to the Paris air show in 1909, saw the planes and thought " I could do that"
Built his first plane in his garage and then had to knock it down to get it out
And then was so convinced he'd got it right he flew it off the cliffs at Scarborough in 1910
What a nutter

Seriously impressive stuff there badger, the Spitfire sure was a weapon with that big alloy Merlin donk.
Steam trains are still big in Brit arent they?
Well here in Australia, the land of kick butt bike racers, we dont muck about, we fly F/A18's and F111's and have electric trains.
Yep weve come along way! :D

Seriously though,
Ever see or hear about the Aussie bloke that sawed the end 2 cylinders of a Rolls Royce Merlin motor and whacked it in a bike for a 5 litre V-Twin.
That WAS awesome!
I still have a 20 year old video of it running.
