Very good price but looking at the pic is that the complete set of decals as there is a few missing compared to the one i had like the long red Honda decal that goes along the bottom of fairing also the Honda wings for tank or it maybe just an example.

No i never took any when complete i put a firestorm front end on the nc30 and aprilia rs125 rear end, theres some in the gallery of this but none of the final project we had a fall out and basically whithout going into too much detail i did everything for free and repaired the bike from a non runner he took the piss and crossed the line and friends dont do that.

ps is the guy you know with stickers the guy in Princess Quay?

no a guy who does vinal down witham, star signs i think hes called, seen some of his work, excellent graphics.

Shame bout the bike, would have been nice to have seen the end result.

Oh well, roll on thursday when im off again. can do a bit more then.

i have been quite lucky really, got a 2nd tank off ebay, and complete plastics for the rear end,so am able to keep all original panels and tank intact if i ever decide to put it back to standard,so basically will have standard and modded set of plastics, and for total outlay of about £230 quid. bargain.

All stickers are there as on the picture, plus maybe 15 to 20 extra ones, including the red honda, and the wings for the tank, Hrc racing, etc, just cant wait to get to that stage now :D :D :D

day off tomorrow, will see how i get on.

Just had a catch up read, this is looking so good dude! Im really so impressed! I wonder if i could do this, i can plastic spray and weld fine and finding the fairings shouldnt be hard!

What i dont get is how you guys mange to fabricate the brackets! I wouldnt really know where to start!!! Other than brackets tho there doesnt seem to be THAT much involved or am i miles off the mark?

brackets

Post by alan »

Toby you can make the brackets out of strips of 5 mm aluminium easy to bend and shape to where you need them doesnt have to be any stronger material just to fasten the fairings to the bike.Or you can visit B & Q and buy some angle brackets and flat bar ect.

p.s marlbroman if you make a balls  of one of your HM plant fairing decals i have a spare you can have (the main orange decal on the side fairing).

The brackets are easy, the main one at the front is a standard fireblade one, which bolts straight on to original mounting points, then its just a case of fitting rest of panels to that, and seeing where you can fasten a bracket to to look right.

did a bit more on thursday, ive trimmed a little bit of the fairings on the inside edges( the two middle panels) so they sit closer in to the frame,as they where fouling on the rad`s... looks so much better.. and the black plastic panels that but up to the front fairing and sit between the fairing and the frame, just fill the remaining gap nicely.(In theory i think they will duct the air from the front fairing down to the rads nicely, and aid cooling even more) but dont think cooling will really be an issue as plenty of air will flow through from the front anyway.

All in all, coming along nicely, I dont want to rush it so taking each step nice and slow.

wow, never though alu would be strong enough but then again i guess theres not too much stress on the fairing points!

Marlbora if you dont mind - how much did you pay for the fairing/headlight?

I have paint/stickers im just wondering if im getting excitied for no reason lol!

Are you seated????????????

I payed £200 for the Headlight,Parking light, and all the fairing panels, including all the inner pieces, and got the `front fairing/clock` mounting bracket from a fireblade rrv for £15. Saw one of those go today on evil bay for £8 though.!!!

Was talking to a guy at work who has an RRV and he said new price for the headlight alone is £500 and to stick a headlight cover over it..... Summat to do with the lense not been made of glass, i never noticed till he said!! must be to make it lighter.........Ian
