Live firing on the MOD demolition range which is about a mile or so away at the back of the Presidential Palace...

Every half an hour or so there is a large ''Thump/crump'' as a charge goes off & the house shakes...

Chatham is the home of the Royal Engineers & the demolition school is based up the road at Lodge Hill about 10 miles away. The Firing range is over the back of me & extends all the way down to Grain beach & out in to the sea.

Typical have a day off & all is peace & quiet...not...

What you complaining about. I would love to have that going off outside my house especially when the boom is close enough to rattle the bones. Shame they don't have live firing dropped from planes as they fly over. Now that would be exciting You just need to stand in the field for a couple of hours beforehand to remove any vermin from flight and getting messed up in the planes intakes first. Either that or get a Peregrine falcon.

tis 2.30 am and I'm listening to Pink Floyds new album the endless river, I really need to go to bed !!

I've not really got into this new Pink Floyd track/album yet. It may take some time like the Division Bell. Interesting how they have changed as a group and music style over the years, from the Psychedelia years of Barrett through to the Waters years of building the Wall and kinda sinking into a depression and Gilmour smashing it down and bringing them back up again. This wont be their Final Cut.

Ah but is the final cut Carl. Most of the bones of the tracks are out takes from the Final Cut Sesions, just with a few new bits added by Gilmour.

I've not heard the new album yet. I've only heard one of the tracks on the radio a couple of times and that hasn't quite sunk in yet. It's a bit sad really as I don't find myself listening to music as much as I did in my younger years. I really should turn the TV and Computer off, get mashed and listen to sounds more often. Gone are the days of my mates and I sitting in a room slowly getting stoned, listening to tunes. We're all grown up now and kids get in the way.

Talking about room, here's a story. I used to own a little Red (it was so slow ) Fiat126. This was back in the days when I used to be a fitter in the car audio industry so had a kick butt little system going in the 126 It didn't take much in such a confined space. Me and my mate done a cheech and chong special Parked up, sat in the car, windows closed, smoking one after another to the point of not being able to see out the windows. All while blasting out Dark Side of the Moon. Oh sweet memories.....
