Iv done that before, had to push is about 1/4 mile up a hill. The VTR is a heavy old lady to push up hills.
Anyway I changed the brake pads and fitted new plugs and took her around some nice Scottish roads this evening.

Went for a good ride over toward Stevenage and then looped back toward Hertford. Passed a red & black SP1 two up on the A602 near The Horseshoes pub. Enjoying the ride, came to the nationals and opened up along the Watton by-pass. Loads of passing ops so made good progress. Turned left at the roundabout toward Heath Mount school and again opened up to about the 80(ish) mark. Vauxhall Zafira coming down the hill toward me and suddenly I have no lane as a black Astra with two twats on board takes the overtake. Both driver and passenger giving the Zafira driver the digit, and completely oblivious to our closing speed that must have been over a 100.
I had a severe buttock clenching moment with only about a foot of clear space between me and the grass bank. Anyway the rest of the ride was great.

Done the TPS tweak today..
There's some mixed responses as to the outcome of this mod, some saying it transforms the bike and others noticing no difference.
It showed a reading of 890 ohms before and i took it down to the Honda recommended setting of 500 ohms +/- 10
I must be one of the lucky ones, I've created a monster
No word of a lie its like a different bike, not snatchy on and off the throttle and it feels like it's wanting to loft the front wheel
through 1st,2nd ...and changing into 3rd.
I'm well impressed...and it was free

just went to local meet and had a good ride after with (vs

) a zx10r, gsxr750, fazer 600, 250 ninja & a little ybr125
the lad on the 125 did well tbh. (his bird was on the back of the 250 & she's well fit!)
after a fast run through some twisties the lad on the zx pulled over and his comment on the storm was "that's fkin awesome - i want one"
passed a copper on the other side of the road & he just flicked his blues on but didnt bother coming after us...
did some mega pipe bangs with 3ft blue flames just to show off cos they cant do them!
was funny as fook at petrol station with the zx10 & ninja circling between the pumps trying to get kneedown on the forecourt.

Fitted the revised airbox (interior cleaned out, removed all of the pipes, triangular filters and gubbins inside, and made as large as possible within the original outer case) and made a crankcase breather for the cam box covers, fitted two long intake trumpets, checked valve clearances and adjusted manual CCT's.
Actually, that was yesterday, today I rode it, and it feels just like I've lowered the gearing- but it's still standard

Grunty bugger, now.
Last week I fitted the MIG high levels, but they're far too quiet, now I can hear the intake noise over the exhaust.
It'll only stay that quiet until after a track day I will book in June (probably Brands Hatch short circuit) then it'll be (ahem) "adjusted" until it sounds proper again.
So don't take the piss at Wales, I haven't gone soft

Stripped the butt end and cleaned it all up while waiting for parts. Seriously considering having it resprayed. Keep it red but with a pearlesant white stripe down the middle bordered by black pinstripes.

Asked the lad at work in the arty farty dept. to knock me up some forum stickers for my bike. Left the design to him so he drew up the font thats used on the side of the bike. Done a fantastic job, well chuffed
