now this looks like a great bike for the money, i'd say it was worth nearer £2000 at current prices, and the seller will take an offer. i'd be rushing up there with £900 cash in hand, if only I had the cash :(

Notice it has had crash bungs removed from the frame so it may be hiding something. Reflected in the price of course.

That's cheap but it's a slow one...no not because it's Yellow though that may have an effect, but because its a Japanese import according to the item specifics. Still it's a good price for a clean VTR.

I can see the country of manufacture listed as Japan, nothing about it being a Japanese market grey import. To be honest the grey import era was over by the time this bike was manufactured. It appears to have the larger UK market tank on it as well.

grey imports were 400cc iirc. the term import in the bike trade went ballistic in the 90's with cheap bikes from Europe, because we were getting ripped off in the uk with high retail prices.
i'd guess the only time you'd get a jap import vtr, was if a owner privately imported his/her bike whilst relocating from japan to the uk. very doubtful tho

Grey import was a generic term used for any size bikes intended for another market that ended up over here, for the reasons you suggest Marty.
