in fairness to leo vince, lloydie is using a 2 into 1 set up and the can was probably never intended for that use. i'd love carbons cans, but you'd have to have 2 on a big v-twin....

Stubby no can do as the sleeve is fooked all the way along it .
It only failed in 1000 miles ish .
Top tip if your carbon sleeve gets hot repacked it pronto .
As soon as the packing gets blown to the end heat then builds up in the can and fooks up the carbon .
Bsm the can was made for a r6 !
I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did tbh and I'm sure it would of lasted many years on a il4 but the 2-1 I think is to much for carbon .
I'm now saving up for a pair of oval akropovic titanium cans :-)
Ones off a milli should fit ...

That's a rather productive day Stevie. Well done for getting it all done
All I have done with mine today is thought about when I am next going to be able to ride it with the weather set to rain for the next week or so

on the up side it gives my wallet a bit of time to recover

And time to tinker and wash if for when the weather changes back to sun sun sun .
Yesterday I removed the 2-1 headers from the bike . Refitted rear foot rests and fitted the cleaned standard exhaust headers .
I then test fitted the standard cans only to find the headers are bent (the lhs pipe that comes from the main split to the can) is bent towards the engine 1/4 inch . And 1/4 inch up .
So I will try to bend it back but I think a replacement is in order when I find one cheep enough :-( .
Also when the standard cans were fitted I took it out the garage to have a little clean up ! Fooking hel you can't half feel the extra weight when pushing it around :-(
Should be ordering the parts tomorrow and cleaning up the spare carbs over the weekend I hope to have it ready for a test ride by Thursday .

contemplated removing the Battery box, undertray thingy, as the bar that goes across the back is rusty, so is under the bike (no Hugger ever fitted)
no sure how much that involves but need to ride it everyday so cant take it off the road till nov time. It might have 12,000 miles on it by then!!!
I need a new front tyre soon so the wheel will come out to be sprayed White!!!. Not sure what colour to do the rear wheel?

It's a bit of a faff because you have to disconnect all the rear end electrics but it's not difficult. Make it a weekend job if your using the bike in the week.

Do what I have done. Buy a second subframe off ebay for like £20, then send it off for powdercoating. You can then get the job done in a couple of hours max. Can then just spray your old sub frame and put it back on ebay

Cleaned and assembled the standard carbs .
Tps set to 550ohm and I will set it to 500 once the carbs are balanced and tickover set .
Set the carbs to hawks specks
Front.
One slide lift hole ,one needle washer , 2.25 turns out on mixture.
Rear.
Two slide lift holes rear ,two needle washers ,2.5 turns out on mixture .
With that set up the front slide is very slow to open and close !
Don't know if it will work but its worth a try :-)
