That's a good price - I have the same parts myself - is that a mates rates price, or can I piggyback on your deal to get mine welded up...?

its a local factory opollo sheet metal in coventry . ive have had work don by them before , they did my cbr400/600 conversion
frame welding the charge by the hour £35 and they do good work .

Asked the lad at work in the arty farty dept. to knock me up some forum stickers for my bike. Left the design to him so he drew up the font thats used on the side of the bike. Done a fantastic job, well chuffed

You might want to get them to fabricate a stop for the blade caliper mount......
Unfortunately the one i have has a male instead of female on the blade caliper mount, so I'll need to get the swingarm modified to suit at the same time.

Fitted the revised airbox (interior cleaned out, removed all of the pipes, triangular filters and gubbins inside, and made as large as possible within the original outer case) and made a crankcase breather for the cam box covers, fitted two long intake trumpets, checked valve clearances and adjusted manual CCT's.

Actually, that was yesterday, today I rode it, and it feels just like I've lowered the gearing- but it's still standard Grunty bugger, now.

Last week I fitted the MIG high levels, but they're far too quiet, now I can hear the intake noise over the exhaust.
It'll only stay that quiet until after a track day I will book in June (probably Brands Hatch short circuit) then it'll be (ahem) "adjusted" until it sounds proper again.

So don't take the piss at Wales, I haven't gone soft

Blown the airbox apart doing killswitch bangs.... still, better now than on the way to Welsh Wales.
I'll build a stronger version this w/e.

You might want to get them to fabricate a stop for the blade caliper mount......
Unfortunately the one i have has a male instead of female on the blade caliper mount, so I'll need to get the swingarm modified to suit at the same time.

I think you should be able to cut the blade stop off - looking at mine, I was planning to cut through the welds....

Not working on mine but I was over at my pals last night for five hours helping him pull his VFR8 apart - an all-round overhaul. The single swingarm in particular is a pain, especially the rear stub nut (tightened to 200Nm and replaced on removal FFS!) that you have to shift it to get the brake disk off. And I couldn't believe the hassle in removing the tank! Everything seems over-engineered, packed tight and properly awkward just to service, not at all friendly. It really did make me appreciate how well (and relatively straight forward) the Storm is to work on!

finally got my new footpegs - they'd been delivered to my old address then forwarded on to the sorting office.
didnt even need to show id to get them though!
had the bike out for a good test this morning and the idle screw adjustment seems to have done the trick - no hiccup when bimbling any more

found this as well - someone liked my paint job and copied it on his 900rr

Your the 2nd to ask mate. I asked the lad at work what he thought, he's of the impression £10 delivered is what he'd do the set for, but says he'd only really contemplate it if there were 10 or so (hes doing it in works time, so would rather bang a job lot out in one foul swoop. going back and fourth could raise suspicions). So, I guess if other folk want them, he'll do it a bunch. If not, then it aint gonna happen. He has about 8 colours or so.

done some suspension setup and brake mc mods on mine today.... more details if they work as ive not been able to test it yet due to inclement weather.
the brakes feel a lot more positive though.
also fitted my new rear set footpegs and set the pega a bit further back.

got it up on the stands to swap to my spare power pro tyres but decided theres easy 1000 mile left in the supercorsas yet so just gave the wheels a good clean cos they were mingin - shiny white again now for at least 10 miles!

sat in leathers all afternoon waiting for a break in the rain without much success so while i was waiting i polished my purple helmet (no, i have actually got a purple helmet lol!)

Fitted a crankcase breather, just about fits under the tank LH side at the rear.
Nice and shiny for now!
I used the catch tank from inside the airbox tucked down the LH side of the rear cylinder, with a breather mounted above, it just fits nicely. All you can see is the breather, but under and to the side of the airbox there are now more untidy pipes, still, you can't see them.

Turns out I hadn't blown bits out of the modified airbox, the LH side connecting pipe had blown off of the rear cyl downpipe, so reconnected it.

Planned to fit braided oil lines and an SP1 oil cooler (four row) but Pirtek haven't finished it yet, so that'll be a job for one evening in the week.
Oh, and hosed the dead flies off, ready for Wales on Friday.

well... the brakes are fantastic but i need some shorty levers now. the only way to describe how they feel is it's like ramming a girder in the spokes lol

the back is still gentler but is usefull for feathering in turns so i'll leave it for now.

the suspension tweaks???? well. its definately more upright and first thing i noticed is more wind resistance on the mway.
first few bends i came to it seemed ok, tipped in better and seemed to follow the line well...
but got progressively worse as the day went on.... i figured tweaking the back end had put more load on the front so i softened the front a bit = worse.
then i realised i shouldve probably stiffened the front so i tried that... and adjusted the damping a little less.
surprisingly it was worse still - felt like the bike was saying Nonononono at every bend...
then kev spotted my tyre was flat lol!

with the tyre fixed.... feels a hell of a lot better lol, but unfortunately by that time the roads were soaked so i didnt get to test it in anger.
but will make sure its right for the taffy onslaught
