cheers I'll give it a read, i've just been looking on the carb tune website but the info is a little general the post in your link should make things clear.
I've already printed out the cct removal procedure (looks pretty straight forward) although I'm thinking modding the OE tensioners (new ones were fitted by my main dealer as part of the 28k service) and a seems a bit of waste to bin them when they can be modded to allow a 'fail safe' function.
I've now gone all European and bought a KTM Superduke GT and Aprilia RSV1000R :D ,
Storm is now gone  .

OK I've read the carb balancing guide and that too seems pretty straight forward, however we'll need a brass 5mm take off and a 'T' piece for each bike that is to be checked plus a couple of meters of 5mm silicone / rubber vac hose to pipe it up to allow subsequent checks, so who’d like their carbs balanced?

you can get the brass adapter and vac hose from Carbtune to suit 4 bikes. I ordered 4, and sold the rest on here in aboit 10 mins, so dont worry about over ordering.

parts are delivered very quick, so you will have the bits you need before next weekend.......the T piece is in halfords

As you will appreciate it's the valve clearances that I am really after, my CCT's are already manuals so they cannot break. I was hoping that Tony would be there yet I understand that it's too far for the amount of interest. Last weekend I fitted the vac pipe to the front takoff point & spliced into the other vac pipe addding the required Tee, in anticipation of the workshop; both feeds are now blanked off with golf t's. Valve clearance & carb balance go hand in hand & its usually best to have the clearances checked & sorted then to do the carb balance.

As for my position due to distance & the work that I was hoping to have help with cannot be done I am going to have to rain check for another time. I really am sorry about that but hope you guys will understand my reasoning. :sad2 :sad2 :sad2

I don't know whether anyone is interested but I bought some of the brass 5mm adapters from carbtune recently. If anyone wants them give me a shout.

Is changing a head gasket too big of a job for this workshop?

I've read tony's guide and the Haynes manual and would quite like to tackle it. I would be me comfortable with a bit of a helping hand present though.
