I wont be going there then  that's madness, surly you could ride there on the bike and they could make them in a couple of hours and have fitted on the bike at the same time.

What is it with all these exhaust places not wanting to make custom link pipes. Either that or they outprice themselves. The amount of places I have been and they take one look at the TI and they are not interested.

Take the bike with you and the new cans and a few tools when you go to pick them up. Fit them while your there in case there are any minor adjustments needed. Otherwise it could be another trip.

That the plan I will be taking off the standard cans and hangers and fitting the new hanger and cans and adapter pipes on the headers .
I will set them up to the angle I want do they won't have any reason to mess me about .
I've read a few reviews of there work and all looks good so I will have to wait and see .

Yesterday eve rather than today...

Murv the Silver Surfer came over & we, well mainly him, swapped the wheels & tyres from Drooper to The Silver Slug.

He now has a fairly new pair of Maxis Supersports to replace the prehistoric Avons that were on his bike from when he bought it about two years ago...They were shagged then being so old, now they have signs of cracking & well just general oldness...Bit like me then.

All went well apart from his fecking alarm going off every few mins until he disconnected battery...He did that before I got the chance to use a hammer...
Making up since 2007, sometimes it's true...Honest...

Fitted the gilles titanium toe piece to modified gear shifter from Kev a while back.

FItted the new cans I got of Benny. Had a bit of a play around with the hanger to get the upswept look I wanted.

Any suggestions how I could modify the hanger to get rid of the excess part to it and the footrest? I was just thinking of taking a hacksaw to it but it'll probably end up looking crap

Just dropped wheels off at powder coaters.

a friend of mine had the original hangers machined down, it meant they couldn't retain the rear footpegs tho, I think the result is very nice, i'll try and find some pics...

Nice cans them Steve but you need some proper hangers. Either get some made up or maybe there is the possibility of moving them more rearward and keeping the angle. Obviously this would mean making new mounting holes in the subframe. Or mount them where they are supposed to be and make a bracket that extends rearward to go between the can and where you have it mounted at the moment. I don't like the idea of the hanger only mounted from one bolt, this could give you some movement which would cause problems especially as you don't have the lower peg mounts on.

not always unless you got the correct one, my mates R1 nearly burst into flames last week due to the RR overcharging the batt, the batt blew out there was smoke and acid everywhere

This can be an issue with any older non MOSFET type R/R. Still better than the original non finned Honda Sh1te though. They can cope with a larger output so not put under so much stress on the VTR and also have a larger body/finned area so cooling is better. I've been running a older R1 R/R now for over 2 years including through Winters with no issues. It basically comes down to the luck of the draw.

my advice with r1 regs is dont fit one unless its a MOSFET reg as the normal ones are just as bad as the standard none finned honda parts .
they just aint worth the bother .
two fAIL in two years on mine ,,, mosfet or honda finned part gets mt vote .
