After seeing where the exhaust pipe runs to the muffler, I'm never going to complain again about the engine heat coming off my ST1300...
Great project and pics!

How will you free off disc bobbins if they become tight?
Remove magnet and re-glue later seems the best option.

That's the idea Tony, the bobbins will be checked before any magnets go near them. Not sure weather to super glue them or locktight them in though.
Another issue is that there's seven bobbins..
So, would I be correct in thinking that I have two choices on the amount of magnets required. One or Seven

Yeah, it's not been nice for well over a week, are you a visitor or a islander?
Right then, I've been at it again today, the arrival of the three Chinese fuel unions allowed me to connect up the fuel system.
Ignore the loose wiring, I'm thinking of fitting a switch for the pump so it's not constantly pumping when the ignition is turned on.
Now the fuel plumbing's in next job is looking for a home for the ignition switch.

Hall effect speedo drives just need one magnet. They count wheel revolutions, the speedo should have a calibration setting to account for different rim and tyre sizes.
If you mount the magnet onto the head of a bolt you can mount it through a bobbin, with a nut behind the bobbin, then easily remove it for bobbin cleaning.
You would need it fitted when balancing the wheel, though.

Thanks for that Tony, tbh I've still not ordered them as I'm going to dig out the cast iron discs & measure the bobbins on those
