I left the shop nearly wetting myself!
It was a newsagents in Chelmsford, I wanted to buy a packet of tobacco which was around £4.50 and went to pay via card,
he said "that will be £5 on card"
I said yeah ok that's fine, then the total of £9.50 popped up on the card reader, I said: "err hang on, I thought you meant you will have to round the £4.50 up to £5 to pay on my card?"
He said: "no, it's £5 charge for payment by card under £5" I said: "you must be kidding? So if I spend £5.01 there's no extra charge?"
He said: "so are you going to pay or not?" I said "I'm not paying £9.50, I'll have a couple of packets of rizla to make it total over £5 please"
He said: "you are waisting my time, stop messing around and go back to Poland!"
I think his broken English was making the communication a little miss aligned!
