I have not been getting out much lately. Between, the job, the weather and my personal responsibilities it has been tough to find time to just ride. Yesterday, I noticed that my tags are set to expire in the VTR. Before i can get a new tag I have to go down to the local garage and have them bless it with a "safety inspection." This is by no means an MoT. They check the high/low beam, turn signals, horn and brake lights. That's it. Oh and they take $7 out of your pocket for the state. Since I wish to remain the good citizen that I am, I backed the VTR out of its place in the shop and prepared to hit the road. The VTR does not like to start after having sat for a month. It took several tries (and one savage backfire) to get it to light but once running it was fine. It's times like these that I realize what a special bike this is. I blasted down my rock and gravel road, picking the smoothest line. This bike is fun even on the dirt hitting over 60 before I got chicken. My ride was pretty short but I came back all smiles. There is nothing like this bike as a happiness generator.
