The bike is looking great BTW and I think I’ll be replicating your brake set up, I’ve soldiered on with the OE set up now and despite SBS sbk pads (no fade from the SBSs although the stock set up probably isn’t working them to hard!!!) and I think it’s about time I sorted them out, and your ser up seems to fit the bill in terms of performance and value, keep up the good work.
The brakes are fairly awesome untill they get hot! lol
Im in the running for some 320mm discs with brackets which should improve things further!
Im very very hard on the brakes for some reason and even with the setup Ive got now im still not happy with it! Id rather trade hp for front end feel, I know which one will make you quicker! I can never understand why people go crazy trying to extract more power when a well sorted chassis will yield much much better results!

Just a quick update, finally got my braced swinger all welded up, Ill get it popped down to the coaters when I have time!
Also solved my brake fade problem, turns out my SP1 caliper pistons are rusting badly, god knows how much crap they've been dragging back into the seals causing the pistons to stick and drag giving me my fade problem!
Anywho, I thought no bother, I'll just rebuild them, but as it turns out for 8 pistons and seals to go with them its just over £200! lol
Not a chance, anywho just picked these up for £150, Im not to sure how there gonna perform, but thought it was worth a chance, however they do look well swish and weigh like half that of the SP1's!
They aint polished like the picture, a nicer satin finish!

Quick picture of the new calipers, before I pop them on Im gonna strip and rebuild them while I can, give them a good clean up aswell, but to keep me entertained I thought Id offer them up, I like 'em!

Hi bud, could you tell me where you got your front flush mount indicators please. The original monsters have got to go. Also, have you had an MOT since fitting the rear light with the indi's built in. I thought there was a rule about the indi's having to be so far each side of the No plate, but I may also be talking out of my butt. Looks good in black bud.

looks bloody good does that,
how much extra weight has it added? considering getting a spare swinger to get this done with, they have welders and that at work, is the brace made from a blades swing arm?
Thanks

Yep, picked up a 95 Blade swinger for a fiver, few minutes with a high speed cutter and it was off!
Not to sure on the weight, however when I swap them over next week I'll weigh them both up, from what i remember though, the brace weighed next to nothing, infact I wouldnt be surprised if the 2 paddock stand bobbins with bolts weigh more than it!

But offset from that extra weight is the metal lost drilling the holes for the bobbins....
Every little helps.
Oh, and only a Blade hugger will fit, and they're shorter than storm ones- even more grams shaved.

Thought Id throw some pics up, got the swinger fitted last week, fairly pleased with it, think Im gonna leave it with no hugger, looks better IMO!
Had a crack at fitting a set of SP1 fairings yesterday, and whilst they do fit, they just dont look right at all, nothing lines up, they dont follow the frame lines very well and it just looks wrong, to get them looking right the bottom piece ends up hitting all the downpipes, sump, side cases and the radiators wont go back in! lol
So Ive scrapped that idea in favour of a race Firestorm fairing and a Moriwaki belly pan, also ordered a nice flat undertray, lightweight battery which means I can loose the battery box which will clean the back end right up!
Was hoping my clip-ons would of been here today so I could of had them fitted as god knows when Ill next have some spare time!
Also had a few thoughts about sticking on a headlight and some Renthals! lol
Forgot I took a photo on me phone with the fairings on!
This was the point where they were looking ok, however they were hitting on the left engine case and there was zero room for the rads!

Nora, it's coming along very nicely

I see you managed to keep the rear brake caliper in the original position, did you have to thin the brace down give clearance
Chris.

Chris, I actually used the Blade caliper hanger, so its moved the caliper to clear the brace, pictures at a funny angle! lol
Also got a few pics of the clip-ons, well pleased with them, bit of a tw@ to get them both exactly right, however, had a moment of genius, free ilevel app for the iphone sorted me right out! lol
Ive gone for an unusual position for them though, Ive got them pushed quite far back to stock, feels a bit alien to me now sitting on the bike, however I reckon the extra leverage will be a god send on tight twisty roads! In total they've dropped the bars down just over an inch from stock!
Oh and also fitted the HRC QA throttle tube!
Ignore the dirty fairings, there just propped on to get them off the floor!
