ZZR's are brilliant two-up, and re-define what fast feels like when you actually use the throttle. Most of the time you'll barely be tickling it :wtf:

That is part of the problem though... I'd hop on one and do a thousand miles no problem, but going for a bit of a thrash results in little time utilising it's power. At least you can crack the VTR open and go up through some gears.

Lovely bikes but Jue will probably only get on it a couple times a year so I can't really see the point as I will be the one living with it the rest of the time. The Suzi is small and light by comparison so I think it will tick more boxes for me in the long run :-)

Good luck Pete with your new bike  According to what I've been reading about it, it sounds like it should be a hoot :) Do keep us posted. When will you be taking ownership :?:

Just got to sell mine first as I don't really have room for two bikes in the garage. I've checked the Suzuki stock with the sales rep and he says there are still plenty to be had so hopefully it won't be too long of a wait after the SP is gone.
Maybe this sunny weather will prick someone's interest before winter sets in

Oh Gawd yes! It must be the child in all of us. I keep looking up reviews to see what folk say about it.
Actually , I've just read a good comparison between the Kawasaki z1000sx,the BMW R1200RS and the Suzuki in the November Bike magazine and for a change I thought it was a well written balanced review :D
In a nut shell. BMW best all rounder, Kawa best value for money, Suzuki best ride. All comes down to horses for courses at the end of the day and what your main priorities in a bike are

All the reports I've read mention the jerky throttle, could be a visit to Tim to get it sorted..

I wondered reading those reviews the if you flicked to the rain map in town would it be nice and smooth then, is it easy to switch maps on the move ?

when i test rode the MT09 i was amazed how much bikes have moved on. So much easier to ride faster, mt CB although is a 2009 was a revelation compared to my well sorted Storm. I didn't really like full fairings, i didn't want fussy Ducati issues ( although they are far better) and i wasn't keen on the looks of the FZ1. I don't do touring anymore, maybe a 3 /4 day run in France etc.

Bikes now are so much more BHP than before , their fast almost in any description, Touring, Sports Touring, Commuter etc. They are reliable and far cheaper. Theres not really a bad bike out their.

We all need to buy what we like providing it has enough good bits we like. (thats normally BHP or speed) For me the CB looks superb, is plenty fast enough and easily will do a 3 day mini tour. I wont get rid while i have legs!!!. Good luck with the bike, it will be a revelation as soon as you have done 400 yds. Even Virt would agree with that.

I found nothing wrong with the throttle at all. And I was playing with it trying to make it happen. The only time I got the smallest of surges is when you let your arms go all floppy and then hit a bump in the road. If the bump is big enough to make your elbows flop up and down it'll turn the throttle. They should ride a SP in the wet, that will teach them throttle control
I didn't manage the change the maps on the move but that might just have been me  I did manage at the traffic lights when I had neutral selected. Something I will have to look into.

Absolutely  Pleased you are still so Happy with the CB. I'm sure we'll catch up on a run next year and be able to compare notes properly

Sorry Mik, You might have to wait a while. I've just lent the Magazine to my Big Bro. I've asked him to keep it and bring it back when he's done.
Anyone else out there have the article and can get it over to the New World sooner?

Thanks Lumpps
You'll all be telling me to shut up when I finally get it I expect
