I used Reactive suspension to do mine, although the spring he supplied is too hard he did a good job on the rest of it. I think he went by the racetec guide for spring rate which we know Is too firm.

Yes the reservoir is gas charged and needs to be re charged when the hose is changed. If you have a suspension place not too far away you could pop it in and they'll be able to do it for little money, if you want a different length hose that'll cost a bit more but they should have the parts. Moto cross shops often have the gear to do it too.

Yeah reactive come highly recommended by many, but when I spoke to him about it he didn't seem mad keen to do it, although he didn't refuse.

I did my own rebuild and used Harris performance to re-charge the shock. What length hose are you looking for Jamie? Mine came with (cue the smutty remarks!!) about a 12" hose to the reservoir. When I put it back together I used a 7" one from Spa, so the longer one is just sitting in my spares box.

Got plenty of places round here which must be set up for re charging. It's just the clear outer plastic sheath over the braided hose has become a bit tatty, so will be a job for next winter

Today....Fitted balancer take off to front pot, then refitted carbs & airbox. Removed front brake lines & calipers. Took front wheel & forks out, ready for attempted drilling of exhaust stud. Recieved new roller bearings in post, and picked up new fork oil & brake fluid. Hopefully get it all done and back together christmas week, along with new lines all round, and bigger tank.

Today I gave my bike a lift, then I pressure washed the underside, I almost dropped it taking it off the lift
That'll teach me to leave the side stand down

Let me guess...
1. You use a drill, then a bigger drill, then weld up the hole, ad then drill and tap it.
But you don't drill it straight, so the tap won't bite, so you get it welded up again, and this time you take the head off, as it's easiest and only costs you a head gasket, and then you drill and tap it successfully, rebuild it and fire it up, but on the test ride you hit a car and write it off, and spend the insurance money on one that hasn't got a broken stud?
2. you send me the head, and I do it properly, with a stainless stud, you refit it and ride into the sunset?
3. you bandage it up and wait until it heals, using the old song your nanny used to sing you as a methodology, wrapping it in brown paper and string? Apparently that is effective for broken heads, although I seem to recall the involvement of a hill....

Am I close?
