Another Newbie

Post by Captain Shapeless »

Hello all, it's my first posting so please be gentle with me.

Just thought I'd introduce myself - I'm Captain Shapeless, and am living in Newport, South Wales. I've got a '99 teal (I always thought it was blue, but teal sounds much cooler) Storm, but it's on an '02 plate, with 35,000 miles on the clock. It's currently off the road as the carbs are totally out of balance, but should be back on the road on Thursday, probably just in time for it to rain again. The bike's got a K&N filter with Viper pipes (Are they illegal, Officer? Gosh...), and I love it. I've had the Storm since '03, previous bike was a ZZR1100 which was nice, but I love my Storm and now couldn't see myself going back to four cylinders. I orignally bought the Storm as something slower than the ZZR (was getting worried about my licence), but that didn't last long - the V2 roar turns me into a complete numpty.

Was interested to see in the Workshop chatroom about how filters can seriously affect the fuel consumption - I think that might be my next move, as 75 miles before the Red Light Of Doom is a little bit silly (but good fun)

So that's me, hello to all, and may your ride home be free of Gatsos.

Diolch yn fawr (that's 'thank you very much', by the way)

That would be marvellous, we can go and play in the Brecon Beacons - great fun up there, all you have to do is avoid the sheep and SAS!
