seat removal
seat removal
hi done a search and its like looking for a piece of straw in a pile of needles.W hat id like to know has any body done a mod to help seat removal as getting mine off is a real pain.I have read it somewhere on here but cant find it..any help be appreciated
yes dear...its yellow
yep its been mentioned a few times lately....but in a nutshell, wip seat off, turn over, undo the 2 nuts that hold the 2 brass clip thingymabob's that hold the seat strap, and hook under the solo seat cover..throw the 2 brass pieces, and refit the 2 nuts direct....voila..seat goes on and off easy peasy..works a treat' p.s i think mike aka firestormmike had the initial idea

I dont get it. Mine goes on and off easy as pie anyway and has the brass bits still on.
Stick key in seat lock, turn and hold, grab front of seat cowl (or seat strap) and pull backwards and upwards - you'll feel the seat disengage.
Grab both sides of the seat forward of the cowl (each side of where the rider seat is) and pull backwards. You can give it a little side to side wiggle if it doesn't come straight off.
Putting it back, just push it forward and down using both hands either side of the seat so that all the hooks and catches locate properly.

I dont fancy taking the brass bits off as any scrote can rip the seat off or nick my toolkit without them.

But yeah, kinda like that, but quicker

If you've fitted an undertray and removed the seat lock to refit it, you'll see what a flimsy piece of stuff it is. My bike gets parked up and left for long periods, so mine will be keeping them.
