Gone and done it

After a fair bit of indecision over the last couple of weeks I have taken the plunge and traded the VTR for a Triumph Speed Triple. I looked at a Ducati 748 and was pretty dissapointed all round. Bike looked stunning but the quality was very poor despite the very low mileage.

Always fancied the Speed Triple after owning a couple of Triple Trumpets in the past, so when one came up in the local shop I had to give it a bash, yes it's completly different to the VTR but the power delivery was awesome.

Riding position is in between my XT and the VTR, fairly comfy but forget anything above 90, unless I start attending the gym!

I know I'm gonna miss the VTR but have decided that I must slow down now that I take my 16-year old son out on the road. Good example etc.

I plan to stick around if you all don't mind, Marty, pop in and see me. Daz lets get your VTR ready for the spring so I can still get me V fix.

Thanks for all the helpfull advice over the last while, and have a look at my Yoshimura Cans posting on Sales and Wants.

Bob :D :D :D

Nice one Bob, hope you enjoy the Speed and give us a good review. If I was going to swap my storm it would be for a Street or Speed triple. Give us the low down after a few miles.

Good choice Bob
the 750 is a nice bit of exotica but I think you'll get just as much fun out of the Triumph and you could ride it every day

I am still trying to work out how a Speed Triple is going to slow you down :!:

nice one bob' yeah like i said on your original post, not a slow bike, plenty of grunt..looks nice...but forget hammering down a motorway unless a tim says you are built like a brick sh1t house...last time i rode a naked bike to wales on motorway, i had to have traction for week after

Pleased too hear you've got yourself sorted :D

Keep us posted on how you find your new bike :!:

For me the sound of a triple is not quite up there with the big V twin, but is not that far off it :D

Kawasaki 500 triple 2 stroke. If the spindly forks didn't get you, the middle pot seized and then it bucked you off!
