As I'll be ditching the train and commuting into London on the silver dream machine from next week, I took it to Doble Honda for a 12k service yesterday. As it's the first service since I've owned it (and it didn't have a service history) I thought it best to take it to a Honda dealer.

Ouch! £360 for the service and to replace the steering head bearings. So much for saving money by not getting the train!!

How much do you guy's pay for a service? Dobles charge £45 +VAT an hour labour, so it was £189 labour, £120 for parts and £50 VAT.

They did throw in a £7 can of Wurth chain wax for free though!!!!!

Always done my own servicing, just use the dealers for the more technical stuff or where I don't have the right tools, but that sounds about par for the course.
